I don't have any vices - I am not a drunkard, I don't smoke and don't do drugs. But sometimes I feel that I have a different kind of urge in eating. I don't consider it a vice still because I'm not giving in everytime I have the urge to eat. Is it normal to crave for a lot of different foods or is it an eating disorder already?

I don't think it's a eating disorder because you still control yourself eating what you crave for. I also feel that sometimes, it is just normal. Usually, I crave foods when I'm stressed.

Yeah me too. And I've been stressed most of times lately. So that may be why I'm having this urge to eat a lot again.

I guess it cannot be consider as eating disorder.I love to eat too, especially during occasions and celebrations.I do have fast metabolism that makes me really hungry easily.Eating also serves as my stress reliever hehe. But moderation is needed to avoid any complications in the end due to excessive eating, too much of everything is really bad.

I would say if you are skinny and to skinny you either have a eating disorder or a health problem but if you are overweight more than likely you have an eating disorder and just like eating. Now not knowing what you look like at all i can say some things about myself too. I love to eat and at times i can eat chips and like that and then at times i want cookies and milk my urges are all different too and different times of the day and even at work i try to calm my urges by eat ing what i bring to work and seeing maybe what they have at the house i work at. Now today i have ate only chips and one cookie and seem to be ok but i am hungry at the moment and wish i had something else to eat besides what i have brought into work.

Wanting to eat often isn't any kind of eating disorder. You just like eating, and that's something normal. It happens to me all the time, craving for more food, but I have to control myself, as I don't want to end up as one of those obese people who complain about being fat while munching a cheeseburguer, you know Sometimes it can be related to stress though. Some people feel the urge of eating when they're under pressure. If that's your case, you can try to analyze what might it be that is stressing you.

Hello stuckonu, you are probably just over thinking it. If it doesn't interfere with your daily life, or is a risk to your health. I'd say go for it. There is this primal urge and deep satisfaction upon eating. I myself have been known to "pig-out" on a couple of occasions, but am still perfectly healthy. Good day.

There are periods in our life our body needs some kind of food. I think this is the reason why we eat it in some periods, even in big amounts. I don't see this as a eating disorder since it won't last forever and you know it will stop.

It's hard to say to be honest. Everyone has a natural urge to eat. Having a diverse craving is actually good. It means you're open to tryng new things and are getting a verity in your diet. In this sense its normal. As long of course, you're not over-eating. Which is very common and is one of the main factors in poor weight control. Because it doesn't matter what you eat, as it matters how much you're taking in. The body requires a certain number of colories and neturiants to survive. sugars, fats, grains dairy. You name it your body needs it. How much depends on who you are, your body type, age, health, and what not. Now if you're eating more often and craving something like sweets over the other types... then that's where it becomes a problem. Doesn't have to mean its an eating disorder, though that is possible. It could mean you may be developing a health condition such as poor iron, diabeties, hypoglycemia amoung other health problems. Fallow up with a doctor if you're concerned. You don't have to have been an adict for your body to suddenly decide it hates your guts.

For me, it's just but normal to crave for different foods. Specially when one is very hungry, different types of foods, comes into the mind that we would like to eat. So, if you don't like to be eating so much on main meals, it is advisable to eat snacks in between.

It's just normal. I also crave a lot of different yummy foods. There were days I would not want to eat much but there were days I am always thinking about what food to eat and the foods that I wanted to it on a certain day.
