I saw Rooney's comment myself. I found it a bit surprising as not long back he was himself given a three match ban for kicking out at an opponent. He is also going to miss out on the start of the Euros due to this. Cheers! Ram

i dont think the rooney kick was as bad as the pepe stamp incident. rooneys kick was like an instinctive kick and not intentional and he also apolosised to then player then and there itself. but pepe just made it look like he did not see meesi hand on the ground. And the rooney 3 match suspension was made to 2 after the jury saw that rooney apolosised to the player

I think rooney wants to be in the news :P what pepe did was really bad to the game of football. it looks like a deliberate stamp so he will get a heavy punishment. the main reason for this behavior i think is the hot rivalry between real and barcelona. real madrid seems to find no answer to barcelonas awesome game play so they tend to play really rough. sometimes it looks like the barcelona players simply fall down whenever the real player make any slighest contact that makes the real player more angry. As you can see in the previous el clasicos there has to be some issue or the other rather than the awesome football.

People and players are free to say whatever they want, since it's something they saw and it did really happen. I'm sure Rooney has been in that situation before and he's been scolded, blamed for it as well. He's just sharing his experience, or we can put it as a form of insult for Pepe. Whatever it is, it's part and parcel of football when emotions run high, minds are not thinking right.

Well, that's really show what kind of characteristic Rooney was :) He's a spontaneous person and like to say what's in his mind directly. But of course, writing it down in social media like Twitter, wouldn't be a wise way to choose. I think Rooney should control himself better.

I saw the incidednt and it was a very horrible thing that Pepe did.. I dont think Rooney should have used that word , but everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.. With twitter nowadays you see a lot of footballers commenting on others, so it may not actually aggravate the situation.. But it owuld have been better if Rooney had not interfered in this matter is my opinion.. Cheers

i think everyone who see the incident will be angry (maybe except Real madrid fans)..that break the fair play rule.. i know Madrid fans, madrid player and Mourinho is frustrated because of good football tactics from Barcelona, but when you do like Pepe do for Messi hand is really stupid and every world laugh at madrid now.. i agree that maybe it`s normally respond from another professional football player who had same occupation, being football player when see any football player had a bad intend for making another player get injured..

Setting the incident itself aside, I think Rooney shouldn't have said what he said. Tweets like these are the reason why some managers consider banning their players from twitter. However, it looks like he deleted the tweet!
