I had to take the immobilizer off to sleep last night.

I guess having to wear it 24/7 is really starting to bother me. My skin was so irritated last night that I wound up taking if off and sleeping without it. This morning though, that was a good thing, especially when it came to the call of nature. But my skin was so dry, just after a few days in this thing. So I put lotion on and have it now on bare skin instead of over a pant leg. I'm hoping this will make a difference, but I'm not sure. A few more days and hopefully I can stay out of it for good. But I think I did more damage to the ligament than originally thought as I can't place my foot flat on the floor anymore. In fact, my foot doesn't stay straight at all, and that's really annoying me.

When do you go back and have it checked? It sounds as if you may have to have some physical therapy for it.If it is too loose I am sure that is why it is chafing.

They didn't want me back in for a followup, that doesn't make any sense to me. You'd think that they would, but I guess they didn't think it was important. The immobilizer is the wrong size, that's what you get for having someone new fitting it. He didn't think to ask them if it was the right size or not. But oh well. I'll be seeing my Dr. next month and I can always ask about it then if I still face this issue. Physio isn't covered on our provincial health insurance anymore, so I don't know what it would cost me to go. I don't have that kind of money anyways, so it would be difficult to start a program.

When my daughter broke her arm near her elbow we were without insurance. The physical therapist at the hospital showed me what to do at home. We went in occasionally for measurements but did the work at home and that worked out pretty well.

I'll be able to do a lot of physio at home and at work, once I get back to it. It's expensive otherwise. And health insurance plans aren't cheap either, I'm looking up rates right now. I would be hoping that I can get through this on my own, and I think I can.

Well sometimes it is good to take breaks between healing, healing sessions. If you cannot stand healing in one straight line, then take it in increments, with rest, as part of your regimen. Try for like 3 days, then rest for 1, or something like that. You can even do it in hour, increments. Throughout the day. As long as it is planned that should be less confuseing. Lotion is great. Make sure you have a natural lotion, that will take some of the irritation out. You can get oatmeal, or eucliptus lotion, that would be soothing. If not, just try some aloe vera jell, that is usually for sun burns, but it is very pure. And helpful, for those who want the help. You could get into healing. With plants. As topicals, or astringents. Plant healing, like mexican plants would be cool. This will take your mind off of your ailments (while you still heal) and this mind use will help your healing! Have a great day.
