I just helped to write a news story for a blog.

http://bangaricontentgallery.com/ I’m not really experienced with writing news stories. I’m more of a health and wellness writer, so I am completely out of my element. I wrote the first few paragraphs about that Costa Concordia cruise ship that ran aground on a reef off near the island off the coast of Italy. The news media has been painting the captain of this ship as some kind of cowardly monster for abandoning the ship, when the ship listed to over 60 degrees and he fell off the ship into the lifeboat. I admit there are questions that need to be answered, but should he be judged in the media, when he is devastated over what happened? The chaplain of that ship tells a different story than what I have been hearing on the news. I know that the news is biased in their reporting sometimes, so we don’t always get the true picture, we just get A picture in our minds that the media wants us to believe. We still have to put a photo with this article, but I’m quite proud of it. Please tell me what you think of the article. This article was written wiki style; me and my writing partner wrote this. My partner wrote the quoted material and I wrote the first part before the quoted material. The blog isn’t making any money, (We hope to change that some day) so there should be no problem with you viewing the article. I don’t gain anything by it. If I ever get comfortable writing news articles, maybe I will use this and other articles in a portfolio for a resume….lol… I'm trying to reach out and do things that are out of my comfort zone... so...tell me what you think?

Good one. Actually, I think in about 10 years from now, newspapers will be history. We will have newspapers online and no more paper!!! May be news writing will also disappear because everything will be shown in video format and somebody will narrate the matter like it is in You tube. :) Somewhere in between is a period where cheaper newspapers will be around and content writing will suddenly be in demand for a short while. We are only waiting for required technologies to become cheaper and easier. :) So you are on right track. :)

My dear, paper companies are already bankrupt! Didnt you know? You just have to wait a couple of years from now to get full fledged assignments in current affairs. :) Older people - especially from underdeveloped countries may find it hard to use media files for knowing their news. They will have access to normal news written normally, and others can watch the you tube like things. Wait till 2015 or 2016. It is only that far. :)

Right. I have thought about papers being obsolete due to the Internet. Maybe when all the older folks my age and older die off there will just be Internet because the papers would go bankrupt with no sales.

when you hear the recording of the coast guard telling him to get back on the ship and he refuses there is no bias there, the man simply did not want to. He wanted to save his own life. He will go to jail. The last I heard though was that he was under house arrest, I don't know if there has been an update since then.
