Have you done this?

There was a lady standing by me in a store at the register and she said hi. So I said hello back. Well she gave me a strange look and started talking with what looked like herself. Then she turned around and I had the answer. She had an earpiece in for her phone! Lol. Have you talked to someone that had an ear piece in? Have you thought they were talking to themselves before you saw the ear piece?

What a funny experience. I haven't experience it but something a little bit different. While I'm walking I saw someone very familiar and when I get near I smiled and called her name. Only to know she is not the person I was thinking she was. I mean she was not even a neighbor or a common friend of a classmate or relatives. She was indeed a total stranger. It's kinda embarrassing when she got that expression of being confused about my action.

hi my son was just telling me of an incident lately when he was waiting for a bus and this business man in an expensive suit was walking slowly toward him with his finger pointed at him," I told you you cannot do that, now listen no you listen to me." He came closer then my son saw he had a gadget in his ears and seemed to be bawling out someone one under him at work. "no dammit you have to order no.efet2w2 not efep2w2, don't be an idiot" then my son said evidently the fellow who worked for him hung.My son said" Mom if a boss had screamed at me and called me names I would have hung up a lot sooner. He looked for awhile like he was talking to me and actually' scared me" then we both laughed.

How do you get those funny faces in your response? I would like to do that.

I have ALMOST done that several times. They'll say something and I'll turn to respond. Thankfully, each time I've been able to see the ear piece in time. It's like that commercial where a woman is talking and a guy beside her is answering, thinking from her side of the conversatin that she likes him. Then all of a sudden she turns and says, are you talking to me? And he sees the ear piece. I have got to think it happens all the time, someone responding to a person with a blue tooth.

RRRRUUUUDDDDEEEE!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, had to get that out. I remember when my husband had one and I'd give him a dirty look when I would say something and he'd turn to show me he was "on the phone" Granted I don't have a cell phone and I don't know how I'd use it, but I really hope if I could afford one, I'd never get as rude as some people are with theirs..

I agree it is kind of rude. It's okay I understand. There are some rude people with them. I don't have an ear piece and I never want one.

Yes and felt stupid. On the other hand I've started talking loudly to a friend or myself or to the people who are using some technology. If they were to respond to me by saying that I am rude, I might give them a "strange look" and I would ask if they have considered getting an office or conduct their affairs in the privacy of their own home. To date no one has ever responded. :-)

That is really funny, I could not help laughing while reading your post! I could picture you and the lady in my mind and I could not help but laugh. Ha!ha!ha! People who use earphones sometimes look stupid. Imagine they are talking alone like fools do. This is the reason why I don't use earphone because I don't want to be mistaken for a fool. Another problem is the persons around you might also become like fools just like what happened to you. Ha!ha!ha!

I have done this several times. Especially with people who are very animated and friendly. They look at me as if they are communicating with me. How am I to know until they turn and show the earpiece in the other ear?

Yes. I have been in that situation and it happened while I'm on a train. I thought this young lady was talking to me. I looked at her direction, smiled and when I was about to answer she moved away and I saw the earpiece. I felt I wanted to melt that time. Let's charge it to experience.

Oh! I've done this a few times. The last time I was in a store, just in the aisles, and this guy walks up like he was angry. I was taken aback, until I noticed that he was speaking on a head set. I guess when people are with an ear piece, they become oblivious to the people around them.

I hate when this happens! I have been so embarrassed at times with this. Lol. But now I can laugh about it. =) They don't seem to notice or realize I guess...

It's always funny afterwards. But I honestly don't think much about it when it happens. I have enough on my plate these days. So I am concentrating more on that. And sometimes thats all the more reason something like that can happen to you.

I have had this same thing happen to me many times, both at work and in stores. It can be a little embarassing when it does happen, but I guess we will have to get used to it with all the new technology. At least I am always able to laugh about it afterwards.

Not quite, but close! There've been a few times when I saw someone just talking away & it appeared that they were talking to themselves... and then they turned around and there it was... the earpiece! Yesterday I was at work & I work in the fitting rooms, and am not allowed to leave that area. So this lady was talking about something she wanted to buy & I didn't know if she was talking to me or not. There didn't appear to be anyone around her, and no one was answering her. So she said something funny & I laughed... and then she walked away. So I guess she was talking to someone else... oh well, I was a little embarrassed! :)

What a strange, strange coincidence. Of course you happened by chance really curious. In short, if I understand correctly that you thought you saluting this woman, but she was talking to the ear to the phone with someone else. I guess you have tried a bit of embarrassment. Am I right?

That happened to me tons of times! I really hate it when it happens though. It makes one look like he's looking for company. I sometimes make a complete conversation with my friend and then realize he/she is talking on the phone. It happens to me quite often. It's really embarrassing. When this happens with me and a stranger I just try to think how I'm probably never going to see that stranger again in my life again. It's one of the tools I found to be most effective in stopping myself feeling embarrassed about something that happened to me in public. Have a great time myLotting! Peace!

Hello, Loving. I have done this and it is very embarresing. There was this lady in a store, and just going on and on about how she hated the books she was looking at, and I said that there were other books , better than these on the other side of the store. She smiled and showed me her ear piece and I just felt so dumb, but she was nice and said thanks. I was releaved. But if they want not to look like crazy people, then they should at least have it out so others can see it. Other times though you can kind of tell when they have the bluetooth. Have a great day

I understand, I was so embarrassed too. It is terrible! After a few days though it is kind of funny. Yeah, they should probably just use it in the car for driving that would save all the rest of us the experience of looking stupid! LOL
