I know many people are out of work and struggling to pay the bills. Its not easy looking for a job when 100's of people apply for the same job. My daughter hunted for a job for a long time and finally she has been hired part time at the library. There are jobs out there; however, she was lucky to see the notice at the library as it wasn't listed anywhere else that we are aware of now. She starts the beginning of February and is really excited to work in a place with lots of books. Good luck to all of you that are hunting for a job.

Congratulations to your daughter. Indeed, if there's a will, there's a way. Likewise, job search needs a lot of patience. Sometimes also, no matter how hard you try, if it is not for you, then it will not really land on your lap. It will be somebody else's lap. God will lead you to it.

I agree with you and the other positions just weren't for her. This one is walking distance from our home, so she will get some exercise and have an enjoyable job. Thanks for the reply.

yes there are jobs out there but not all are published also most companies go with part time or temp more because it's cheaper than full time

I agree its hard to get a full time job when companies are trying to cut expenses. Part time workers are paid less in many jobs. My daughter is a college student, so she was looking for a part time job. Thanks for the reply.

Good for her! I bet she is excited to start a new job and one that sounds like she will love it makes it that much better! I am lucky to still have my job after all these years. I would hate to be looking right now.

Visvern I agree there are jobs out there; however, in my daughters case she is a college student and several of her classes are only offered once a term. She is a senior and would like to be able to graduate. She has already taken several terms off in the past and now has to add an additional year to graduate, so her education is going to cost 1000's of dollars more because she needed a job. She isn't lazy, as she has worked hard at school to be able to get a good paying job down the road. She is majoring in education to be a teacher. I have a job, but it just wasn't enough to deal with the high cost of college expenses. I'm lucky to have my job and have been working at my position for 13 years. Its not easy; however, am lucky to have a job. I'm glad my daughter will have the money for college with this job, so that she will be able to finish now. Thanks for the replies.

Yeah i think in days like these we should not be choosy anymore, we should look at the bigger picture, no matter how hard the work is or it's something you really dont like doing, just keep in mind that you will get paid by the end of the day. Just think of your family and those who needs you and it will be all worth it.

I agree its time to be willing to accept any job. My daughter applied at a lot of places that would have been ones she wouldn't have enjoyed, but money is money. She really was lucky to get a great job. Thanks for posting.

That's great. Congratulations to your daughter. I would love to work in a library or bookstore. I have been searching since October...technically on and off since last January but I lost the job I was trying to replace in October so I've spent nearly every single day since then looking at three different job boards, plus a freelancer site. And then I found out from the news last night that while the unemployment rate in our state is down a half a percent from last month, the rate for the county where I live is up almost 2%. Very discouraging.

She applied at so many places and most didn't even interview her. It was hard watching her try so hard to find any job. I'm glad she found one that she will enjoy. Thanks for posting.

That is why we should never give up until we have accomplished and reached our goals and dreams. Sometimes, we are too impatience or just give up along way. Good luck to your daughter in her new job.

I know its hard to have patience when bills keep piling up. She will now be able to pay off the credit card and cancel it. She has learned that putting things on credit can be hard to pay off when you lose your job unexpectedly. Thanks for posting.
