Coupons & Savings?

I was wondering what everyone here thought about coupons and the savings that come with it? I recently started using coupons when I go to shop because I need to save money and spend a little bit less than what I use to. Today I paid a visit to my local Shop Rite. I purchase two Dove deorarant's and two DiGiorno's Pizza. The DiGiorno's were on sale for $4.47 each but I had a few coupons that I could save $2.00 dollars on any DiGiornios Pizza and I also had other coupons for the deorarant's which they came out to be about .49 cents each. At the end when I was paying for my products I actually only spent $3.81 with all the coupons I used. I saved over $12.00 dollars. So by saying this how many of you use coupons and do you save as much as I have been saving lately?

I am in awe of the people that are on those couponing shows because I don't know how they are able to save that much money. If I knew and learned all the tricks then I would do it but I won't go overboard. If I can save fifty dollars on a big shopping spree that would make me really happy. That's amazing how much you saved but when I go to my local rite aid they sometimes say the don't accept two coupons. But one of their coupons is from Rite Aid and the other one is from the actualy manufacturer. Tomorrow I'm going to the local rite aid to see if I can use some of my coupons to buy some toothpaste and have a saving. I think the most I've saved was around $8.00 but I still ended up spending a lot of money so I guess I need to get the hand of this whole coupon thing first.

There's no need to go overboard but the best thing is to buy stuff when its on sale if you have a coupon for it. A lot of places double up the coupons so it makes it even a bigger discount so you could try that. On many sunday papers they have a couple of coupons.

I tend to be on the prowl for coupons that I use. Here's the thing though and that is a very easy trap to fall into, is that there are just many times where there are coupons for a lot of things, but things that I really do not need. Therefore, I see a coupon and get excited, but I fall right into the trap of using coupons for the sake of using coupons. Is that really something is going to save money? Naturally, no but there is a certain art to coupons. An art that is really just going to be just looking for coupons for things that you would normally buy. That might not happen all of the time but what little money you can save, is going to be something that is going to help. At least that's the case for me.

We use coupons, but we don't save a lot by using them. We have had a few shopping trips where we've gotten things like free yoghurt, etc., but not a lot of good coupons come out in our area.

I don't use coupons if I don't have money I just don't buy them most things I can use coupons for are pizza, spa/hairdo, car stuffs I don't eat pizza, spa/hairdo I hardly ever bother, and I don't have a car so I don't spend on those anyway but I do take a look at grocery penny saving pages some of these I know what their prices are, so I know whether I am saving or not

I use coupons a lot. Where I live there is a store called Giant Eagle and they have a thing where if you spend $50 on their free advantage card thing then you get fuel perks and if for every ten gallons of gas you get foodperks. So that is pretty easy, but on their website they also have some coupons you can e-clip right on to your card and I've saved a nice bit of money from it. When my printer gets fixed I will be using coupons even more since I belong to this site that is nothing but coupons for various things from toys for my kids to personal products and food. Its not much but I've saved about $40 this month using coupons, making my own cleaning products and so on.

Of course, coupons are worth saving your $$$. I personally don't use if that often because I hardly find any. Very soon I'll be trying to search more about where to get coupons over the internet and start saving it. So yes, it is a good idea to use coupons.

I do like to to collect and use coupons. One supermarket has a deal of giving a coupon a day or so after shopping. I get a larger amount if another supermarket would have been cheaper. Today I went there and used a coupon worth three pounds and sixty pence. I also have a voucher worth three pounds and ten pence which I used in a different supermarket. There was a deal in that supermarket "spend over forty pounds and get an extra one hundred points on your card". I have a purple colored card from that supermarket. I get points on my shopping and I tend to go to their petrol station when I need fuel.

Hi Holv, I used coupons sometimes if my friends give me some and yes you are right it's really a big save of a buck using coupons and if you're type of person that want to spend less then coupons is always there for you to sort out. It's really helpful for things or groceries you wanted to buy and want to save a little.
