As you might already know, not only big chain stores offer discounts or those loyalty program to customers and in hope they will come back for patronage more often. During the recession, most people might come to shop at thrift stores or dollar stores more often due to their cheap price offer in comparison to others. For rewarding those customers and also in the same reason, they want customers coming back, thrift stores and goodwill, lately I saw one near where I live, actually offer discount price, if some customers shop more than $25, or even $50. So, if you are a frequent shopper, and you might come around to shop more than $25, you might get a better price.

The thrift store I go to was very very cheap and reasonable the first few months or so when it first opened but now, after several months they are raising their prices and it doesn't feel the same to me anymore. They still have their holiday half off sales and their 25% off days too but it feels like a rip off to me lately for some reason. They charged less and now after they get you "hooked" they raise prices like some other types of services.

I have a great thrift store near me...aids a rescue mission with some churches. Every Wednesday is 25% off everything in the store. I am there every Wed at 9am! I always find a piece of furniture that is in excellent condition! I look for fabric, books and household things. I love it and am glad it is going to a good cause. I heard the gossip last week that the Salvation Army thrift store that is down the street...people are not going there..their prices are to high! The ladies were saying..."for $50 more, I could get that new at Kmart!" and they were saying they stopped going there months ago...the stuff is just priced way to high for being second, used thrift store. Plus, they stopped having their sales..they used ot have a 50% the last day of every month...now nothing. But this one I go to..it is very crowded every wed and even other days I stop by.

What thrift stores do this? I have one by my house that offers like 25% off if you have a card, and go in the store on Tuesdays or some day of the week (can't quite remember). Of course it's a little 'overpriced' for a thrift store, this one (like $10-$15 a shirt! Too much for buying things 2nd hand). I wish Goodwill would have a loyalty program. They don't, not that i know of, and I shop there enough to get some good comps, I would think.. lol

I have only heard of Platos Closet offering a discount program that rewards you for frequent shopping. Good to know. Thanks.

Hi! Some people really adjust to changes in their lifestyle once they have financial problems. Recession is really normal nowadays and people will find ways to save money and cut of their expenses including their loyalty to expensive stores. Some stuffs can really be bought at a reasonable price in some stores. Some are just expensive because of the brand.Never mind the brand as long as it is worth it and money saver. Loyalty programs are really useful for those who are consistent buyers and its good that thrift stores also offer this.;))

Not to far from home there is a platos closet which is second hand clothing for juniors and young teens. They have accessories, clothes, shoes and so much that you could buy at discount prices already. They have a card that after so much is punched you will get a discount on your next purchase after the card is full. I think its a great thing to do and to use as well. I like shopping everywhere that offers discounts or coupons, Coupons help because i like saving money and even using my coupons on clerance items helps as well because then you get more for your money anyways.

I hope thrift stores in my country would offer such loyalty programs too. Lately, only the bigger establishments are doing it, and not all of them are. Nowadays, almost all of us are being practical about our expenditures. These loyalty programs are really a great big help for us.
