even i am too losing my cool and always calm temper. i don't know why, by thinking about this matter more deeply i realised that this is because of the two reasons in my life. 1. one is thats being good qualified , i am still be unable to get a respective job, that making my temper loose. 2.second one is bit funny, as i thing from the past few month i have joined. gym and beacuse of extra muscularity i am loosing my temper and getting angry more and more.

All of us have different reasons why we lose our temper easily. I suggest to relax and try to control yourself. I hope you could find a respective job anytime soon. It is really hard to find a job now that everything is getting expensive. I am sorry but I quite don't understand your second reason. Sorry my friend..

I've never tried yoga in my entire life. I thought it is only for women because I never seen a guy who is doing yoga. Sorry for being ignorant. I will try yoga some day. Thanks for sharing jaiho! By the way, I am just a little bit confused, is yoga originated in India?

Find a quiet place to think and move out from the crowd. Don't listen to what they are saying. Focus on what really matters. Once you lose your temper you can never bring back what you did and what you have said. Sometimes we need to be silent.

Yes, I am always silent if I am not on the mood. I don't talk to anybody and I don't want them to talk to me too. I like to be alone. It relaxes me and keep myself calm. Staying in a quiet place is also a great way to lessen my temper. Happy mylotting!

There are a lot of things that I do to calm myself down. I take a nice warm relaxing bath, I read, I go for a walk, or even put on some music and clean a bit, you'd be surprised how great excersising is for relaxing. It's benificial because not only are you being active, you'll have a cleaner house too.

That is a great idea crivas. I agree with you that exercising is not just good for our health but also a great way to relax ourselves. When I am getting mad, I try myself to calm down by telling myself to keep relax and calm down. I try to smile as much as I can. Happy mylotting!

I always have to remove myself from the situation that's upsetting me. I just need time to myself to first distract myself from the situation, second take deep breaths and calm down, then third, analyze the situation once I'm calm and in a more logical and stable mindset. I hope this helps you, for I too suffer from temper issues and know how hard they can be! It stinks when you know you're hurting the ones around you when you don't want to. :(

Yes, most people always leave the place or situation that makes them upset. I also do this. It really feels bad that we are hurting our loved ones when we are losing our temper. I am a litte insensitive when I get mad. I can say all the not so good words to them. But I always say sorry to them if I am already calm. I always get myself dismayed.

Whenever I feel that I'm beginning to lose my temper I try to stop any activity I was involved in at the moment and simply take a deep breath and try not to think of anything for a while;if it's possible,I take a break from any activity,I just sit and watch TV and try to focus my thoughts on pleasant things. It usually works, and as a last resort I take a pill to calm down, but that happens very seldom because I realize that whenever we get angry and lose our temper we make our life a little shorter, and that's another thought which helps me calm down and try to take things easy.

Hello polaris, I guess taking a deep breath really is really a good temper reliever. I have noticed that many people are doing this every time they are in a mood where they get irritated easily. During my college days, I also got mad easily if I couldn't finish my project right away. What I did was I stopped doing it and take a break for awhile. It really worked for me. My temper was gone and I got back to do my project. Happy mylotting!

I have a pretty short fuse too, but I've learned that the best way to keep from lashing out in my anger is to just remove myself from the situation for a bit and take some time to calm myself down - be it by taking a walk and clearing my mind a bit or just taking a few deep breaths (through the nose, out the mouth, and making sure to bring it to my diaphragm) and focusing on why I'm getting so worked up.

I agree with you polaroidsredwine. This is one of the best ways to keep myself calm. If I get irritated easily, most of the time I want to be alone. I like to be with myself in a quiet and peaceful place. It relaxes me and clears all the bad stuff from my mind. Thanks for sharing your tips and techniques. Happy mylotting!

If driving along and something stressful happens I take a deep breath. Otherwise I like to count inside my head one to ten. This makes me feel much less like am in a temper. I have a friend that is a dangerous driver. I say no and won't go in his car again. If he gets in a bad temper I try to make a silly comment to get him smiling. I say something like "I don't want to see Mr Snappy. I wish to see Mr Nice". Otherwise he will get on my nerves. I recommend times every day to relax and once in a while to have a relaxing day out. Good luck with keeping your temper.

Hi Champoy! There are also times that I feel like that and I really hate it, specially hen I feel like I am getting angry, irritated for nothing and it creates some misunderstanding with me and my husband and sometimes even with other people around. When I feel that I am being like that, I just keep myself away from other people, coz most of the time I want to be alone and give myself some space to think. Well taking some deep breaths and taking a bath helps me a lot! hehe and sometimes I just pray so that the negativity on me will go away... Relax Champoy and its a good thing that you are here in mylot coz it will help you to be more calm and relax...

I think there are things that bother you a lot that is why you always acting like that. This is also happen to me because I am severely depress and at once I am angry for small things... But what I am doing now to eliminate my anger is to watch movies and or listen to music or doing any online thing that relieve my depression. This is effective because I am a little bit of laughing while watching korean drama... Think what is the problem that you face to find a solution in it. This is one of the good method to resolve something that bother us...if you know what that particular thing that bother you. Deal with it with smooth approach like what I am doing watching movie first then when it makes me relax. That's the time I can face it...

This happens when you are facing problem or with too much stress. Stress make us irritable and boils our temper easily. Take sometime to relax- have a vacation. Or take a walk- exercise that will remove toxins in our body that giving us stress.

First of all: ask yourself if there is a reason why you lose your temper that easily lately. This can also be because of an illnes or be caused by changing of hormons. I don't easily lose my temper and if a lot has happend before that time. If I feel I am in a bad mood I stay out of the way of people and tell my family to leave me alone for some time. That works.

There are times I get irritated easily without any reason. I just get mad easily. I don't know why. If I am not in good mood, I just keep myself quiet. I don't talk to anymore. I just want to be alone and need some space.

I have been in such situation sometimes. Usually when I have problems and thinking of something... I became so easily irritated. One thing that you can do to keep yourself calm is to always be optimistic. As much as possible try to put away the problems you're thinking.

hi champoy first lower your voice and speak slowly and you will find the anger sliding away from you. now make a place in your mind or in reality where you can go to get away from what was making you angry. your computer, your back yard, a city park a place quiet and tranquil. I often listen to Mozart's violin sonatas as the classical music soothes me and drives away angry thoughts.Count to one hundred not just ten. Losing ones temper is awful as nobody else wants it,.

I tried to lower my voice and speak slowly. There are times that I can't control it. I get my voice so loud and tend to hurt my loved ones. But in the end, I say sorry to them and make friends again. I feel so ashamed to them. I will try to keep myself cool and relax next time. Taking a deep breath and listening to music are quite great ideas. Happy mylotting!

Regular practice of Yoga, Yogic breathing exercises and deep Yogic meditation can definitely help in calming the nerves and considerably reducing stress and tension which generally lead to irritation and bad temper. If you are serious then i recommend that you start learning the techniques from an authorised Yoga teacher.By doing so you will find certain positive changes coming over you not just mental but also physical and you will definitely find life more pleasant.I have been doing it since twenty years and i have full control over my temper which i never lose besides other things. This is my suggestion.

I know that yoga is a good way to relieve stress and tension. It relaxes one self and makes you feel better afterward. But, I never thought of it as a stress reliever. Thanks veejay for sharing this information to me. I don't know anyone who is doing yoga. I will just try to search on internet about it. Happy mylotting!

I am right with you on temper and I am female 47 years old to boot. There is co-worker who really gets on my nerves at my day job... sometimes when he explains stuff he takes while to get to the point and try not look frustrated or I cannot hurry him or loose his train of thought... but I need advice his drawing on to fix it.. etc...and he tries to make conversation with me and I am not into it at all. It just that he is really slow in train of thought and he does get off on tangents or others stories I try my hardest to get him back to the point... then he say why are you in hurry.. you do not need to rush off etc... that annoys me the most. Now what I do i count to 10 or look out over his forhead so he thinks I am looking at him but I am really not. I try to smile a lot.. and keep telling myself this is tempory and I will not be working with him for long. I also try my hardest to figure things out before I have to ask him I really do... If I get on another job and do not hand back his drawing right away he will make a point to come to me to see if it is done... like today I was out at lunch which he stays at his cubical and he comes to me is it snowing yet? I am like no... I am like where did that come from... yes it suppose to snow today but in the afternoon like around 2:00pm he could look online or gone out the front door to see why ask me. Weird and little upsetting if ask me. I am doing the best I can to get along with him. i get along with everyone else mainly guyse like 5 of them and one other girl who is on vacation right now. Thanks for listening and I hope I gave you a few ideas how to control your temper. I also listen cds like country, big band, classical music and that calms me down too. Sincerely unique16

If I were on your situation, I don't think I can control my temper on that person. I surely lose my patience on him. It is really hard to deal with this kind of person. I'm glad you able to control yourself calm. Stay calm and don't mind him. Don't take him seriously. Thanks unique for sharing your experience. I get good techniques in keeping myself relax and controlling my emotion towards other people. Happy mylotting!
