for me emergency room is also the most exciting area in the hospitals , you don't know what kind of patient you'll be handling, presence of mind and calmness are needed in that area, the most amazing part of the hospital is the operating room

Hello millionaire, Congratulations to you! In my opinion, the emergency room is definitely the busiest and most exciting area of the hospital. I wish you all the best.

Hii... Yeah, helping people will make us more useful and gives a different feeling that I can't explain. When I graduated from high school, I got a scholarship to be a midwife but I rejected it. I really love to study about health but I prefer to study about foreign language, now I am studying English and Japanesse literature. But since months ago, often go to the hospital cz my mom is sick. Emergency room is the most excited are ? Are you kidding me . When my mom got in the ICU, I saw that emergency room is very scary me. Every nurses, doctors and even the family of the patiens were busy, panic and worry. There were scream, crying, blood and many saick things. I was so confuse and feeling dizzy. I am so afraid seeing wound, blood and sick people. Every minutes there were new patient with horrible condition. Whenever I see the wound my back will get frightened. That's why I did not take the scholarship. I wish the scholarship was for other subject.

It is really a good thing to be a nurse,it's a nice profession and a special ministry of caring,i think a ward nurse is ok,there u can have a patient and nurse interaction,Your patient are much more happy seeing you cares for them which will gives you joy and more confidence to do more.

You shouldn't let your financial matters get in the way of your education. If you want to be a doctor, I'd say go for it, be a doctor. See if you can apply for good scholarships or take out loans. Don't hold yourself back over something like that. Have you been in an emergency room before? It can get pretty hectic in there so make sure you do some shadowing and see if you really like the environment and the stress level before making your decision. Good luck.

Really, I think that it completely depends on what you like to do. If you like to work with the same patients for more than one day, you definitely wouldn't want to work in the emergency department. However, if you like something that is fast paced and where you really don't know what to expect next, then you should work in the ER. For me, I think that the most fitting department would be to work in pediatrics.

Good for you that you wanted to be an Emergency Nurse. I haven't made up my mind on what Specialization will I take. How I wish I can decide on it within this month. I'm really not that confident in taking care of my patients. I haven't had too many hospital exposures.

For me, being in the Operating Room, is the most exciting area in the hospital. You see the excisions, retractions of different organ of the body. You witness different anatomy of the body. There are a lot of interesting operation that you will encounter. You study the vast and various instruments. You will know all about sterility. You will know a lot of doctors and nurses in charge and most of all the number of hours in the operating room nurse is fixed compared to being a ward nurse.

that is great! I am nurse as well and I believe it is a great profession because you get to interact to your patients more than any healthcare giver and you have the most opportunity to help and save lives. If you really want some action and you do not get easily rattled then Emergency would be great, Your resourcefulness and, accurate and prompt delivery of nursing care is expected. Operating Room is great also cause you are in area where everything is controlled especially the sterility and you use a lot of your "presence of mind" to get through it, but you just basically assist the surgeons and not be able to perform actual nursing procedures (other than scrub and circulate). ICU Nursing or Critical Care Nursing is also a good one, where in you could really grow skill-wise. But i am biased to Labor and Delivery Nursing cause I am a Perinatal nurse, Hehe..It is great cause you deliver (if your a Nurse-Midwife, in which I am one) miracles everyday and get to take care of cute babies! So nice and Laid-back in the L & D unit...hehe...but it is really up to you! Nursing is wonderful!
