I know what you mean, the expense of the flowers aren't worth it if they're just going to die a few or so days later. Something else would be more practical and useful. Maybe you can hint around about that, to your significant other and see what happens. Good luck, and I hope you get something nice for Val. Day!

I would rather have a live plant that I will be able to enjoy for a long time, maybe for many years.

Hi jasmin! It's nice to receive flowers on Valentine's day but it's just like you said, if it's too expensive then I think it would be just an unnecessary expenses. People should be practical these days. I mean, to celebrate Valentine's is nice but I don't think it should be too grand. I'd appreciate even just one rose or a gumamela. If it's from the heart.

I didn't really think about getting anything for Valentine's Day. I'm blessed anyway, and I have gotten plenty in the past, so it doesn't really matter to me. I'm not in love. But I did get candy from my favorite man in my life--my 2 year old grandson got me a giant kiss!

I did not receive anything last valentine's Day. But I am not complaining. My husband called me up and told me that he loves me very much. Sometimes, it's the little things that we tend to ignore that really counts. I used to hope that I receive flowers on V day but not anymore. As I have grown older, my perception of this occasion has changed. It's not the tangible things that counts anymore. A simple greeting of "Happy Valentine's Day" from my husband made my day. It's more on the appreciation that we are spending our lives with the ones we love and hold dear to our hearts count the most.

I totally agree with you. I prefer to have something I can keep permanently rather than something that will die after only a few days. I am a tight wad and prefer to have something that will last long after the holiday has passed.

I feel the same. The flowers are so expensive in the Valentine's Day. Besides, I already got married for years and we don't really have to spend the extra money for it. I prefer to spend this money in a better way rather than buying expensive flowers. I love China

To each his own. Does he care what you want? Will he get it? Hope so. Have a nice one.

good day jasmin_niza, well, it is but normal to think practical. after all, valentines day is just a one day event. so, buying an expensive flowers is somehow not a practical one. as it somehow affect your budget. well, except if you have really an excess cash but, it is better to buy and spend it to the food to dine in a nice restaurant.
