For Christmas two years ago, my parents gave me a Kindle. I enjoy my Kindle. I subscribe to Reader's Digest on my Kindle. I read much more since getting a Kindle. Do you have a Kindle? If not, do you want a Kindle? I look forward to hearing from you!

I just got myself a Kindle Touch and I love it, especially the X-ray feature. It is great to have books stored all in one simple, thin device instead of spread all over bookcases that take up an entire wall (which I plan on freeing up very soon).

LaDeBoheme, I love having all of my books as close as the touch of a single button!

I'm old school--I prefer books. I don't think I'd ever want a Kindle--I have enough problems with my eyesight as it is, and to concentrate on viewing a computer screen would drive me nuts! I've always been a reader, and prefer to go to Barnes and Noble, the library or a yard sale to find a great book. Heck, I even read not-so-great books--that's how addicted to reading I am!

Looking at an ebook reader is not really the same as a computer screen. Electronic readers use e-ink technology which is designed to mimic ink on paper. And you can adjust the size and type font. I like this feature since my eyesight sucks too. Many people are not ready to make the switch and that's understandable because there are still many books not yet electronically available. But that's fine with me because how else would I be able to sell the hundreds of paper books I have if no one read them anymore. I used to like going to the bookstores and perusing through the books, but they are all falling by the wayside now. Borders. Remember Crown Books? And now B&N is in trouble. In fact, they're talking of spinning off their Nook into a separate business, because of the dismal future of its brick-and-mortar stores.

LaDe-thanks for sharing some information regarding ebook readers. Perhaps I'll take a look at one. I don't know if I could give up physical books though...I'm addicted! I know Borders is gone, but I'm not familiar with Crown. There was another chain that was in the malls, but their name escapes me at the moment. I think that B&N stores are confusing--I've gone into the one here (near my new home) and can't find a darn thing! But at the one near my former home, I could find anything I wanted! But I think they should have never gotten into the 'coffee house' mode--I go to the bookstore to buy a book, not to have a social hour! After I eat, I tend to NOT want to buy a book! But that's something weird with me. Manda--I never thought you didn't. I think it's great that you read MORE because of your Kindle!

Personally I do not own one yet, but my husband and I are considering getting one with our Income Tax refund, and seriously looking at the Kindle Fire. We want to be able to use it for Reading as we both hate reading books, and personally it would be a lot easier to read off these screens. This is the New reading Craze for sure.

That's great. I like reading and I think the kindle makes for a good reading device. I guess it's a good one to have. But, I'm always on the go and if I have to take all my wanted devices with me that would be a mess. I mean, an music player, a book reader, a mobile phone, my scheduler, my weight watcher, gps, my earthquake monitor, my laptop to go online. With all these, I had to settle with my iPhone. I got all the apps I need on these lil machine when I'm on the go. But since I'm very fond of reading, I think having a kindle just for the house would be cool. I'm saving up for a "Kindle Fire". Sometimes being a gadget freak always pushes me further down the road. What guilty pleasure.

No thanks. That is just way too much technology for me. I'm already happy I have a laptop and it gives me a headache sometimes. If I really want to read something, I have the library just a few blocks away or I can look up an article online.

I have something just like the Kindle.. mine is the Sony eReader. I love mine. I can go online and buy my ebooks right on my Sony. I call it a Kindle, but it’s not. It’s much easier for me to read with my Sony because I can set the font to the size I want it for easy reading.

I know a lot of my friends who have the Kindle, and they say they like it, but I also have friends who have the Nook and they love it too. I am going to be buying the Nook Tablet because I have heard a lot of great things about it.

Right now I actually have 4 ways to read Amazon Kindle Books, but do not own a Kindle. I use the Cloud Reader, the Windows Kindle Reader, an Android app for my tablet, and the app for my Windows Pnoe. I started reading most of my books in digital format years ago before downloading the Kindle apps, starting with Mobi-Pocket reader on my Windows Mobile Dell Axim years ago. Mobi-Pocket is now owned by Kindle and I would love to read my .mobi ebooks on the Kindle Readers I have but the Readers only let you read ebooks you downloaded from the Kindle store. I would need to get an actual Kindle instead of the programs and apps to be able to read books I already have. That bring up the point of whether I would get a Kindle. I am seriously thinking of the Kindle Fire as an option, but I have programs on my various gadgets to read most any format of ebook, so I am not looking to purchase a basic Kindle Reader.

I did have a Sony Reader, but I recently changed to a BlackBerry PlayBook. I was considering a Kindle Fire or Touch 3G but neither are currently out in the UK and the PlayBook was less than half price. I liked my Sony, but I wanted something that would enable me to easily read online as well as ebooks.

I wish I had more time to read and had a Kindle. I saw them when they first came out and thought they would be nice but they were expensive back then. I really don't have money for all these gadgets. If I was reading alot I would probably get one. My eyes bother me alot with drainage and stuff so I don't read like I used to.

Kindles are something that I've really been on the fence about. One day I think that I would like to have one but then other times I acknowledge the fact that I like the feel of having a real book in my hands. For that reason, I haven't given in and gotten myself one of them. However, I do think that at some point this year I will probably get one because of the fact that it is economical and also environmentally responsible to own a kindle.

I've never had a kindle. Two years ago, I got myself an iPad. It was a choice between a Kindle and an iPad back then. And the Apple product won out. I've put on a few books on my iPad, but I haven't really found the time to read through most of them.

My husband did have a Kindle but then we sold it because my husband wasn't allowed to have it at work any more because of security reasons. They are okay I guess. I never used it because well I don't really care for reading and my daughter was and is too young to use it herself for reading.

No I don't have one, but have heard they are pretty much great to have. I don't read too much except web pages and stuff, so I wouldn't really have much use for one. if someone gave me one I would try to see how it worked and then decide if I want to keep it or not. I know nothing about them.

I don't have a Kindle. I ever thought about buying it since its price is very nice. However, later I also read some negative comments about it and then I gave up my decision to buy it. I love China

I have heard about those Kindles and have been considering getting my daughter one. I really don't know that much about them thought. My daughter is forever reading on her Ipod, but it's so small that I know she is not getting the experience she would if it were a little bigger.

I don't have a Kindle and don't want one. Even though i have two friends who have them, think it would be great to get one! I rather read books! Real books! I think it is weird to buy books that get put on a device! Secondly I don't want to use a credit card to buy "books" and don't have a checking account! I love real books not technology you can put "books"on!

Hi MandaLee I want one of these Kindles for sure. Basically, it is a great device to read when travelling. In India, a lighter and economical version of the Tablet PCs is available for school kids - known as Akaash - Actually the foreign name for this Ubislate. It is supposed to allow reading and other things on the move... But still, the Kindle is awesome and I would prefer to have it

Hi Manda No, I don't have a Kindle. But if I said I want one, would you give me yours? It's very convenient to have one, isn't it?
