What is it about music, drugs, and death?

We dont hear something like drug overdose, and stuff like that out here in our country. It is not associated with either Hindustani classical, or Karnatik music. Or even film music for that matter, and everybody knows that 99 percent of Indian movies have 6 songs of 3 minutes each. So I am feeling strange and sad at the news of Whitney Houston's demise. They again suspect it to be drug overdose. What is the link between western music, and drugs, any idea?

VERY, very sad news...vandy! There is nothing demeaning of what my thoughts are, dear Vandy! Ultimates like Whitney Houston are propelled into worldwide stardom, exultation, acclaim--a songbird recognized the entire universe over, which brings with it, the whole world peering at her thru a magnifying glass...her every move eschewed, digested, re-gurgitated on media! Never a private moment...nowhere to escape! Nowhere to hide! In the same context....if one of the Hindu stars you are referring to, should meet an untimely passing, a lot of the world would NOT know, as they have not made exultation---worldwide! Stardom, globally strips one of the "right to life!"
