We woke up to a light snow on the fields, but about a foot of new snow in the mountians. This is great news for ski people, maybe we will have a good Spring for that, if not I am afraid that many ski areas will lose money.

Well the one blessing is the snow will melt and run off and give water to ground and streams for the earth. I hope the ski resorts get their money for skiing too. I live by the ocean we hold our breath over hurricanes so I know what it is for resort areas not to make their money. Good Luck.

Thank you kindly for best response. Unfortunately the weather can really make or break tourist areas no matter what season! Hope you guys managed to make it!

We are having the same problem in NY State in the northern areas and from what I hear, northern VT, too. Weird year, huh?

Beyond skiing, I would also be thinking about the ground water and the spring planting. I am glad your area is getting snow. We got a little snow last night, and we will have some more moisture later on this week.

When it comes to snow, this has been the single winter that I can think of where there has been almost a complete lack of snow in our area. There have been a total of two mornings when I've woke up and there has been some snow on the ground, but it hasn't been snow that has lasted for an extended amount of time. Now that the winter is almost over, I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the temperatures getting a little bit warmer and the day lasting a little bit longer. I'm really not the biggest fan of winter weather and the length of days during the winter.

Many ski resorts make their own snow. But this year on the east cost has been quite nice. No snow to mention. Maybe one light sprinkle. And it has been in the 40's and 50's. I like it this way better. I could live without the snow.

Also in my place we have a lot of snow, it is perfect for skier, I do not remember winter like this. Umbelieveble weather was for last two weeks in Europe, freezing all the days and snowing. But it starts to be boring now, when outside is stil -20 and you can not go out to take a walk. O.k. you can but it is not so enjoyable. If I would have a time for skiing, I could go somewhere. Best time for that.

our winter here where i am in Canada has been pretty poor for ski lodge owners, however, we got a good amount of snow over the weekend but it is supposed to be warming up by the end of the week, so i am sure some have lost money here too.

I know the ones in my area have this year. We are having a cold snap here and they turned on the snowblowers for the weekend. They got some snow but nowhere near enough for skiing. I think we might get a little more tonight but I haven't heard the details.
