Happy Valentines... I mean, Singles Awareness Day!

Lol! Well, it's true right? February 14th and most would greet us with "Happy Valentines Day" but for me and other myLotters who are currently single, don't you think it's better to change "Valenties" into "Singles Awareness" Day?
Yeah it's a bit sad since people all around you are folding hands, going out on dates and holding bouquets of flowers and there's you, single, walking around and doing nothing. Lolz! Instead of sulking, why not invite some of your single friends for a night out? Coffee, dinner or something would do :D
Another thing, don't you find it funny that "Singles Awareness Day" has an acronym of "S.A.D"? So it's a "Happy S.A.D" day today? Lolz!

Great attitude!
I'm single, but too old to be worried about it, that's for sure. Why is it though, that at least some of us only think about being "left out" on Valentine's Day? Why can't it be more like Saint Patrick's Day when everyone is Irish for one day? Oh, well... @keihimekawa (2009)

I know! The same thought crossed my mind. It's all "Special Day for Couples" and I was like, "What about those who are single?" Lolz! Just this morning as soon as I left home for work, the streets are filled with people holding flowers and lovers. And it's like 8am in the morning!

@Ricki: Your comment made me laugh! I know what you mean! My friends also kept pestering me to find a date for Valentines. It's not like I can simply grab anyone and tell him to go with me on a date! Lolz! Valentines Day is like discrimination!!! Lolz!!!

That's just so true! During the 1st Valentines that I don't have a BF, I totally sulked and after a few months, realized that I should be happy first before I get into another relationship :P

I am not affected with Valentine's day anymore. I already stop moping long time ago why I am still single after two decades of searching for a potential mate. I don't care anymore and I will just work harder to earn money and tour around the world and for my retirement hehehe.
But I do agree with you, Valentine's day for singles is always a single awareness day because during that time we are very aware that we are singles because nobody will invite for a dinner or even give us chocolates and flowers haha! Personally, the only time in a year that I would think about marriage is when Valentine's day came^____^

Awww *huggles* It's good that you're not too affected then.
I moved on a long time ago and during VDay, I meet with friends. Funny thing is, when all of us are together (all girls), we always have people looking at us. It's like we're announcing "Hey! It's not too bad being single on Valentines!"

I hope that the people celebrating SAD are happy!
Aside from Single Awareness Day, I saw a post on facebook saying it's Happy Independence Day! For the people celebrating alone.
Anyway, I think a party sounds like a great idea!

lol. Valentine's Day is indeed Single Awareness Day. Who wouldn't be thinking about their love lives at this time of year? Even if they would hide out in their rooms, they'd still be able to hear about it on tv or on the internet.
It's indeed funny how it's acronym is SAD. I wish your next year wouldn't have to be.

I wish for the same thing! I don't mind MUCH that I'm single during VDay but of course I miss the times when I look forward VDay with a partner =P

Funny way to put it! I guess, I need to all invite all my single girlfriends and we'll paint the town red. Oh, but I have a date with my job, so no fooling around this time. Ugh!

That's true! I really don't mind the "event" on the 14th but it's the lovey dovey environment that gets to me. Especially when I see a lot of girls (and gays!) who are holding hands with their lovers with bouquet of flowers at hand :P

It's discrimination I tell you! DISCRIMINATION! Lolz~ Kidding! But it's really great that there are groups who brave VDay and enjoy with fellow singles. It makes the day bearable :P
