I am posting it here because its not about any specific game but over all. I do apologize if its the wrong section. I want to know what people think regarding video games and seeing people buying them in stores. So this is another lovely mini questionnaire. 1. Do you think its odd to see a middle aged man buying a video game in a store? 2. Do you find it strange to see women of any age buying, playing, and excited about video games? 3. What do you think of parents that buy underage children 'M' or 'mature' rated video games? 3b. What do you think when those same parents complain that the violent game made their kids violent though they bought and let them play the game? 4. Do you think there is a cut-off age for playing video games? 5. Do you feel as though video games are mind rotting or do you believe that can provide stress relief?

Well it depends on the person buying and playing the video games. No one is too old for video games! I'm a girl and I get excited over video games, it's not only the guys who play video games. I love playing video games, they offer me entertainment and relieve a bit of stress. For violent games, parents should know which game is appropriate for their kids by the rating of the game, so parents shouldn't complain when they're the ones buying their kid's games. There are some people who get a little too carried away and take games too seriously, turning them into zombies or something. We all have limits and should limit how much games we play.

I am a girl as well and I love playing video games. Some people think its weird for girls to like playing them, but I have never seen a problem with it. Though you are right about the 'zombie' thing. That happened to me when I was playing WoW. I would have never thought that I'd get that sucked into playing it online for hours and hours and hours. Sometimes I started playing and didn't realize how late it was until the sun was shining in my face. As for the violent video games... it is just annoying to play or hear 10 year olds playing games like Call of Duty or something. I mean these games have ratings for a reason and the kids have the most foul language ever. The adults aren't even that bad.

LOL! Ok... I'll bite. 1. of course it's not odd, video games appeal to all ages 2. again, of course not, video games appeal to BOTH GENDERS 3. meh, it depends on why the game received an M type of rating, also how old the 'underage' kids are, etc. My daughter is really into sonic the hedgehog and I got her a few games that are rated 10+ although I don't see any reason for the rating. She is 8. It could be due to difficulty of maneuvering or something but either way it makes little sense. 3b. - I think people who complain excessively about video games, tv, movies, music etc need to get a life. Video games do not 'make people violent'. Tv, movies, music do not 'make people violent'. People who have internal personality quirks and glitches and are predisposed towards 'becoming violent' or have addictive tendencies would become that way regardless of what they are exposed to or not exposed to. The sooner people realize this and stop blaming external things like video games, the better. People always seem to need to place blame on something other than the individual who has an issue - or themselves. Bottom line, people obviously do not want to find themselves lacking or accept responsibility for something they COULD control but would rather blame on something else. 4. age cut off? Are you kidding me? What even made you think of this one? 5. I think video games are fun... but time consuming. Ones you play alone can be stress relief, like solitaire or bejeweled or something. Ones you play online with others can be a source of social fun.

Well I let my three and four year old sometimes play Sonic. They just think its funny and aren't paying attention to violence. It's kind of cute considering they all say 'mommy come on we have to beat eggman' and things. It really is. Not to mention if they play Sonic 2, they both have to sing 'Sega' when they hear it. Honestly those games aren't that big of a deal. I mean the fact that sometimes if I play CoD with my husband you have ten years olds with the worst language imaginable playing Modern Warfare, GTA games, and so on. Its those parents who claim and complain their kids are violent but then why would you get a 10 year a game for adults. The age cut-off was because there are people who say you should stop playing by the age of 30 and "grow" up because they think maturity and video games go hand in hand. Cool. Its stress relief for me overall, but I play CoD: Black Ops Zombies for it. So I am not sure if shooting zombies is stress relief to most but I feel relieved. XD

1. No, i don't think it's odd... it's just like seeing old people playing scrabble, chess or other board game. It's the game they're grow up with so why do we bother when people having some fun. 2. No, but i haven't seen a woman who enjoy playing and talking about video game in my neighbourhood, 3. Rating are made for a reason... if parent buying their kids something for adult, then they're not being responsible. 4. Now i rarely playing video games, but i don't think there's a cut-off age for playing video games. Sometimes me and my friends like to hang out playing an old console game just to have a good laugh. 5. No, i don't think video games make your mind rotting and yes, they can provide a stress relief.

Hello. I would be delighted to help you find the answers. Here is my oppinion: 1. I believe it is natural for people of all ages to play. There is nothing wrong in it. 2. Not at all. Women as well as men have an equal apetite for games and playing, it is just that society has made most of them not to play anymore. Remember little girls? They enjoy playing as much as boys. 3. They are irresponsible. 3b. It is obvious that something is wrong with them, not the children. 4. No. Not at all. That would be totalitarism. 5. It depends on the game. This last question has a very complex answer, but the short version is: games can both be harmful and helpful , it is a matter of chosing the right game.
