It might seem weird and perhaps unbelievable but that is true. I am using a lenovo z570 laptop with 4gb ram ,2nd gen i3 processor and 750 GB hdd. I had installed a fresh copy of OS few days back and installed all the latest drivers. Since the driver upgrades made,my system takes too long to boot up and too long to shut down. Booting up takes more than a minute or sometimes more than a minute and a half. Shutting down on the other hand ,now takes more than 45 seconds. Anyone who can help me?:) i would appreciate if you can provide me a link to download any specific software/program etc(if required).:) Thanks in advance.:)

Couple of things to check. First off, when you got the new drivers, did you check and or install the motherboard drivers (chipset drivers)? Windows 7 will run a default set of drivers on a motherboard, but vendor specific drivers are usually better if available. Check your BIOS as well; most modern machines have a capability in BIOS to bypass some of the POST tests (Fast Boot BIOS), so that may have been disabled during the upgrade/reinstall, and may be responsible for the increased boot time. Finally check this article, it explains in detail how to use Windows 7 event viewer to track your boot times, and diagnose what may be wrong: http://tek.io/zoq8Rm
