Truly More than A Man's Best Friend

My heart bleeds seeing a dog in the news, somewhere in Zamboanga who almost lost it's face. My heart however ponders with joy and pride of his heroic did. He's truly more that a man's best friend as he is a true hero. He save the lives of the two daughters of his master when he jumped to a raging motorcycle which supposed to hit the two children. His desire to prevent the vehicle from bumping the kids jumping to take the risk the impact resulting to smash off his nose as it was pinned at the motorcycle's inner wheel parts, leaving the surface down to his mouth and chin open showing the tongue and teeth. A blessing for the hero dog seems to be unaffected but and seems to be still very active although it's really so hard for him to eat. There are animal lovers and veterinarians who suggest to apply mercy killing to the dog by injecting something that would gradually paralyze him and die to end his sufferings but the master did not agree. As a resut a veterinarian treated the dog by applying antibiotics and a protection for the dog's face not to be directly exposed. Happy to hear the dog is flooded with donations of medicines, food and all the comforts for him to recover. If you'll watch and observe the dog he seems to be happy and proud being aware of his heroic deed.

Just a little minor detail correction, Kabang is a lady, she is also pregnant when she tried to save her owners. Many people are interested with her puppies because they think those puppies will be heroes too just like their mother. I think she have a maternal instinct to those littlegirls cos she see those girls grow up and those girls always play with her. so I am sure she see those girls as family.

Hiya bing, So glad that the Dog is recovering. All to often a Vet will suggest to put a Dog down instead of trying to save the animal if he can. In that case of the Dog and his injuries from what you say he is getting well quickly and I hope he lives much longer with his owner and the children they must be really delighted that he is getting better so fast. Brave heroic Dog have not heard of that kind of thing in a very long time. Thanks very much for the lovely Story.xxx

I think that a lot of people in this world underestimate the relationship that a man can have with his dog, and I have seen a fair number of cases now where animals have saved the lives of their owners. I think that it is beautiful that another species should get so close emotionally to us that they feel as though they have to save us, and it is a relationship that we really should be looking after and making sure that we develop in the future. A dog will always love and trust its owner, it is up to us to make the dog know that it is always loved.

I think the feeling is mutual for the owner and the pet. The dog also felt that she is well loved by her master and the family. Thanks Gemmar for the response. Have a nice day...

I wonder why veterinarians or doctors in other sector suggested that KABANG should undergo in mercy killing.. eventhough they want to end the suffering of this dog, didn't they think that Kabang still fight for her life despite the looks she had right now? I mean, look, all the doctors trying to find a cure for cancer patients because they still hoping that they can survive others life.. it's their job, their obligation but because kabang is a dog, they'd easily suggested those foolish idea... Japan had hachiko, alaska had balto... all of these dogs were recognized for what they'd did... they also have statue... but how about kabang??? all she got was sympathy and foolish idea.... it really breaks my heart when i saw her but my heart was totally crushed when i heard that people suggested her to be killed... anyway... kabang is pregnant now, that's why the operation for her prosthetic will undego after her delivery and recovery... thanks for the post i think you should include photo too...

yeah, i so saw in the television that she was an instant celebrity right now, and calling her hero dog... people are too busy to have pics on her just to put on their social networks' accounts but i don't think all of them offer their help... because of popularity of kabang, his master's mother finally track them... kabang is really an angel...

I too have the same reaction as yours when I heard the news about that particular dog who saved two kids from getting run over by a motorcycle. It would be wonderful if that dog can actually have facial reconstruction to help him cope with his daily life. That family sure is lucky to have him as a pet.

I have seen that news of a dog, and what happen on here. It is a man best friend. If the doctors transplant parts of the body of a man, can they made it to the animals? The dog was truly a hero of his kind deed.
