I have been searching the internet for a month already for a laptop that I am planning to buy. I have chosen so far HP, Toshiba and Lenovo. However, I have never bought anything yet. I am still confused on what to buy. What do you think is the best Laptop that I can buy that isn't that expensive. I am looking for at least Core I3 or I5 specs. What's the brand that you recommend? Something I can use for a long time. I will mostly just be using it for surfing the net, skype, online jobs and for typing/creating documents, watching movies/listening to music (sometimes probably) but not for games.

Hi, sheadjeel, my laptop is HP and it's bought at low price, I bought it in 2009, this is my first laptop. My friend has a HP that she bought on 2007, so I think HP is the one you could use for long time. ^_^

I am also in a hunt of a good quality laptop. I only got a netbook for now and its a MSI U135.. its not that good that's why I'm looking for another. Some says Dell is the best.. But, others say why not get a MacBook. I dunno either!

Speaking of brands in my opinion Sony Vaio is the best we have now. Just telling you that last year Vaio's designer were noticed by Apple which hired them. Anyhow yes it is expensive. I've got one Lenovo which is expensive too but I don't appreciate it that much. Since it is given by my company I keep it. If you want something cheap you can go for an Dell which produces good computers but very cheap and you can configure the laptop that you want on the web site. I suppose that Dell sells only online, not sure. Last but not the least is Acer which is medium price and it can be a good compromise. P.s. i5 o i3 processors it is not a discriminant, you can find them on all the computer brand products. Bye N.

HP`s line of notebooks are entertainment PC`s, great company, top of my list when it comes to notebooks. Toshiba has made great notebooks, but the new ones are a little crunchy when it comes to components quality, so my opinion is that you don`t go along with them, as for Lenovo, I had one, but it was a total fail to buy it, poor performance truly, although i don`t know if they have worked on the bugs, but I wouldn`t buy a Lenovo again. Yet again Dell is a great company, keep in mind that the problems Dell had, were only with some of the models in the past, the notebooks from Dell are great. It`s up to you wheather you stick with HP or Dell. Cheers mate.

I live in Brasil so I can't answer you in terms of price but I can tell you about my experience with my HP laptop. I have a HP G42 with 3GM of ram and a dual core processer. It is a great notebook and I use it to play games with high resolutions and also do all my work.

i would recommend an Acer laptop they have everything your looking for. it is also best for office and work use but if yourlooking for gaming too i would recommend an HP but if it is just gonna be for office and work then deffinetely an Acer but there are alot of laptops out there that have I3 and I5 i personally ordered a desktop with an I5 processor and 4gigs of ram and a 1gb graphics card for my gaming and work use and it works great only paid $700 for it too but bad part is i cant take it anywhere lol. try looking at sites where you can build up a laptop and put what you want in it sometimes these sites will allow you to just build one to see what the price would be i hoped this helped.

I have always had HP laptops and never had an issue! Now I turned over to Apple so I used neither of your choices. But HP would be where I would put my money.
