Misbah's performance as the skipper has ftched wins for team Pakistan in all formats of the game but he is compared unfavorably with Afridi the former captain. I think the media of Pakistan is responsible for this. Certain sections want Afridi back as captain even though Afridi is a mercurial character and has proved that he is a great ODI player and leading the team is not his forte. But poor Misbah, inspite of his achievements is considered too slow for ODI and T-20. I still remember the fright he gave India when he single handedly brought his team close to a dream win against India in T-20 world cup in 2007. It sis obvious that the people of Pakistan are emotional and do not look at the results. If Pakistan goes back to Afridi the decline will plunge Pakistan to where it was before the 2011 ODI world cup.

Hi Fanne, Misbah is very good player but he is not very popular among the people of media, the reason I think that he doesn't have command over English language. That is the reason most media people stay away from him.

Oh, You may be mistaken here friend. Misbah is probably one of the few Pakistani cricketers who can speak well in English, I believe he is a MBA grad.Look at him and hear him answering Mike Atherton in an interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GgbvPAJNtQ

Misbah is a wonderful players but he not popular with either his team members or media. Some people are born like that. During the world cup match against India, people help Misbah responsible for Pakistan's defeat because he batted too slowly. He is a nice guy too.

well Misbah is very talented player of Pakistan but he is very down profile actually.i think this the main reason why he is not popular in media.because media wants some spicy news and Misbah don't talk much.and he is very cool minded.but i think that one he will also attract media and every fans of Pakistan cricket team by his constant good performance.

He's a calm character whose presence on the field is barely felt at times and on some occasions - hardly even matters. He's patient so he waits until he gets a chance to pounce and at times, it backfires. But he has built a reputation, and a good one, to steer Pakistan past many obstacles in dire circumstance and while the adrenaline levels remain low, fans ought to be proud of the results 'captain cool' has achieved since he has taken charge. The criticism remains, like for every leader, that he misses a trick or two. At time it's frustrating to even imagine a character like Misbah lead a traditionally mercurial, yet excitingly talented, Pakistan line-up.
