I have been hearing about the cyber bullies and how these people love to bash you in public - and public in this case meant in your facebook pages, or even in twitter accounts, and perhaps others wouldd even send you messages in private just to piss you off. There was also some cases where those who were bullied have even committed suicide... But these people who does not do anything but be a pain in the @ss.... can only go so far, right? and they only go as far as you take them.. right? Like, keep your account private, perhaps and do not allow them to post in your profiles, etc. Maybe I have been a victim myself... but I would refuse to be bullied online and would probably fight in public too if i have to protect myself this way... But just how is it possible that others would beconsider as a bully.. or are they just voicing out their opinion? what do you think?

Most sites have admins and moderators to report to and offer security features to block unwanted users from harassing or extracting information. Like you have said, they can only go as far as you allow them to. They could always just be ignored and reported, and as long as keep your information and pages private and available only among known friends then you could prevent strangers from getting a hold of you. There could be times when people express their opinion of you more harshly than you expected so it could really be something else. I believe in etiquette, and practice it mostly even online and I believe in the golden rule, so I barely get what I do not do unto others.

thank you choybel for your response. I always feel that these bullies everywhere, especially the internet, we can always shrug them off and just never mind what they have said. we must admit that we too have had our opinions and the difference is that these people just tells them or posts them for everyone to see, to a point of even influencing them as well. but that it should just stay where they have started and not let any of it get to us.

Bullies at school or bullies at work are difficult to avoid and people ahould seek help and protection from them. People who complain about Cyber bullies get no sympathy from me. Here there is a matter of choice. Do I log on the FB and read the crap or do I avoid FB? It could be that the bullied get almost as much sick pleasure as the bullies.

I would agree with you. they go as far as you let them bully you and that is just to turn off the pc or just cancel the account where you got all the comments. It may be really hard for the person as you would be seeing much comments i guess too... but then again, you are correct that they are the easiest to avoid. I just feel sorry for those who are so attached with the cyberworld that they find it hard letting it go...

They pretty much go as far as the person being bullied lets them. It's not like they can't close their chat windows or delete their facebook. Most of the people who get bullied are kids who's parent aren't responsible enough to teach them there is a world outside the internet. A much more real one. Usually things aren't as simple as they seem, but to not be cyber bullied it really is as simple as getting off the computer.
