When Tao Rukun, the child of government officials, was unsuccessful in his pursuit of pretty girl Zhou Yan, he charged into Zhou's home, poured lighter fluid on Zhou Yan's head, and cruelly lit it, shouting "Die!" In a flash, Zhou Yan become a ball of fire, her ear even completely burning off! It happened a week ago. The victim Zhou spent seven days and nights in hospital receiving the intensive care. Her life is no longer threatened, but her injuries are extremely severe. Her face, neck, chest, and other areas are severely burned and one ear was burned off. The burns covers over 30% of her body skin. With the second and third degree burns, her entire appearance disfigured. As the victim lay in hospital, Tao's parents produced declaration saying that Tao proactively tried to help, completely not in accordance with the objective truth. According to netizens, the suspect Tao is the child of government officials. Both of his parents are high officials of Hefei city, Anhui Province. They tried to use the medical expenses during the victim's treatment to compel the victim's family to sign a document absolving them of guilt. At present, the suspect has been released on bail. The girl's family refused to sign the document and went online for help about the medical expenses.

I have no idea who these people are and where this place is but this story, if really true is really something. It just shows how some people with power and wealth fail as human beings in their responsibility a person and as parents and children. I really hate people like these. I know many with whom I have personal acquaintances with and most of them really disgust me down to the core. Sometimes, I wish they would feel hunger, extreme poverty and all sorts of pain by which other people experience so as maybe to teach them and open their minds to reality. God have mercy on them.

The boy responsible for the girl's injury should go to jail no matter who is or where he comes from. It is good that they turned to internet for help. I just hope they find some help on the internet. This is just an example of failing parents who wants to conceal their child's evil through force. What a pity!

That is sickening. The fact that because they have money they think they can get away with anything.

This is terrible. No compensation can recompense the damage and hurt to the girl. Hope such cases never happen again.

The hell, that tao deserved to be in prison! Why do children of government officials have it easier? It just make them think they can do anything, even if it's illegal because they can always rely on their dumb parents to solve the problem for them. There should be a law for them to hang this guy for his crimes or something. Maybe a law to remove the high officials from their positions for tolerating their child's behavior!

No amount of money can ever bring back the quality of the girl's life. That boy really needs psychological help. To do something as dangerous and as cruel like what he did means that he is really sick. I don't think the parents should not try to hide or justify what he did. Hiding or running away from the issue will result to nothing in the end because lives of people are already affected.
