It happen frequently to me if I did not have proper survey or research prior buying something, mostly electronics and if we bought on bargaining store. I still remember the worst one when I plan to bought handy cam and already had number of research to website and check the actual on the electronic supermarket. I did hope to get cheaper price at bargaining store but the store keeper convinced me to buy totally different brand, he asked me to try and comparing this brand while keep away the one I have. I just realized when reached home that I should buy diferrent brand and dissapointing with my own decision..How about you? Have you ever experienced same thing and how to ensure we buy the right brand?

There are really good storekeepers or sales personnel who could convince us to buy things even if it wasn't what we intended to buy. I guess that's really part of selling. We just need to be firm and not be swayed by the salesperson's enticing words. Although there are still those who put the customer's wants on top, and that they really do give them sincere and honest advice on what brand to pick, there are however those who just want to close a sale and would try to convince us to buy some brand we don't even know of. It's hard to distinguish these types of people so I guess the best thing really is for us to go to a store, buy the brand we want, and leave :)

well, you are right..those kind of sales or store keeper has done their great job and should be awarded by their company..However, as a customer we must keep our mind and doing the best we can do when bargaining something..Sometimes really hard to identify honest seller with tricky ones since they always trying to persuade the buyers until they finally buy something offered..to chose the brand we want is the best we can do as you said...appreciate your response..

hi omchesunche, talk about good sales talk. many times i've come home feeling that i made a mistake by listening to the store keeper/owner and i end up wasting my money. in order to prevent this i usually visit the store more than once so i can think twice and thrice about what i want to get before actually buying it. i know this sounds like a hassle but it helps me prevent from buying something that wouldn't be useful to me in the end.

I usually do some research before I buy things, I also try to hear first hand opinions of owners of the same item I plan to buy so as to know how they rate it. On other things I normally just go for the brand because I know that I could trust the brand manufacturer. Of course, on a tight budget, I go for whatever works and fits.

It has happened to me in the past. But mostly with products which are of a lesser cost.As far as more expensive items are concerned, I take a long time considering the product before arriving at a decision to buy.I would say do your homework well and don't be lead away by shopkeepers sales talk to change or persuade you into buying a product you don't require.
