I just got my Christmas wreath off the front door. I guess it was about time! It's an artifical wreath with the lights already attached..so I can save it from year to year. When I carried it down the basement and was going to hang it on a hook a walnut fell out! I think some little creature found what he thought was a save hiding place! For some reason the situatiion gave me a good chuckle! Have you ever ran across something that someone had hidden inside away thinking it was a safe place? So cute!

My cats, especially my boy, like to hide milk jug rings and other toys in my shoes. However, I'm not certain if it's that they think that those are safe hiding places or if they are sending me a message ("Give us treats, human, or the next time it might not just be toys in your shoes!" *Evil laugh*).

Oh my gosh I'm laughing my head off! That's hysterical and reminds me of the movie "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. They were putting up the family Christmas tree when a squirrel ran out in front of all the relatives and then the dog started chasing it and everything was a mess. Toooooo funny and one of my favorite movies. I'm happy the squirrel wasn't living in your wreath too, hahaha! I can't think of anything I've found like that offhand, but I'm sure I have at one time or another. Certainly not as funny as your story though!

Aww...you found his winter stash. That is cute. I have never ran across anything quite like that but one of my dogs went through a stage where they wanted to steal a piece of my clothing and hide it so they could lay on it during the day while I was at work. I would find my stuff in the dog bed down in the cushion part.

hi there jillhill, Wow cute story, that squirrel must had been furious and angry to what happened to his nuts and who took it, anyway i do have a good one for you, back when me and my cousin's were wee little boys we always went to our grandfathers house and looked underneath his bed for his stash of playboy mags, we would sift through it and looked at all the ladies, anyway that was my story of finding stuff were other people think it is safe to hide it.

This is interesting... Having some squirrel hide a nut in a Wreath. Maybe he thought this was a safe place or thought it was real, or a good place to hide something where no one else might look. Hopefully you did not disrupt his thoughts and now he has to find somewhere else to hide them.

that is cute. when my dad was alive, he used to keep all his cash in the freezer in case someone came in to rob his house. i mean, how many robbers would think of robbing a freezer??!

Did you eat the walnut? I heard some footsteps on the roof this morning whilst bathing. Think that it is the wild cats that we have roaming around as I do not have an attic.

Nope....didn't eat it! I would be scared if there were wild cats walking on my roof!

My mother, my mother-in-law, my sons and my husband! My mother told me about my grandma wrapping Christmas gifts and stashing them away only to find them in July! Too funny! My mother loved to make Christmas cookies. I was cleaning one of the bottom shelves in her kitchen and ran into Russian Tea Cakes way in the back. It was summer! We ate them!
