If you could...

Okay, so I'm doing a survey of sorts. If you could pay someone to do one thing (Chore, task, errand, etc.). What would it be? How much would you be willing to pay to have it done? and Why? For me, if I could pay someone to do one chore. It would most likely be, to do my grocery shopping. I dread having to go to the grocery store, especially having to stand in line to check out. I would easily pay someone $20 to $25, just so I didn't have to go.

I think $20-25 is a very nice amount and I'm sure someone would do it for you, just for the extra cash. It's a decent amount considering gas prices now and it's not such a hard thing to do. I also can't stand shopping, ugh!! Now I would pay someone just to carry the groceries up to my second floor as it is tiring for me. I also have dark brown carpeting in this apartment and I absolutely hate it. You see every little piece of fuzz, lint, cat hair, etc. It drives me crazy because it only takes about 5 minutes of looking very nice and that's about it if you know what I mean...grr. So I'd pay someone to come in daily to do this, lol!

Oh, there are many times I have considered finding someone to do my grocery shopping. I would just worry they would by all the wrong things, even if I gave them a list. Mainly because I shop using coupons and comparing prices. I can relate to the carry groceries up stairs. Before my brother-in-law passed away, he lived in an upstairs apartment and my husband and I would take him shopping (he had MD and struggled with carrying things). So, my husband and I would carry all his groceries up stairs for him. It is a pain! You know, I'm sure someone (like a teenager wanting extra pocket money) would be willing to come vacuum your place everyday. So, if there was someone willing do vacuum for you, what would you being willing to pay them?

Oops, I spelled vacuum wrong up above..duh. I'd probably have them come three times a week, not every day. It would take them about 10-15 minutes to do, it's not big at all. I just find it to be a pain in the neck and I have a bad back. I do not like dark carpeting and would much rather have a nice light beige/golden brown which is in most of the apartments which is much prettier to me. I'd probably pay $10 to do this for the week which would total out to about $10 hour.

Oh yeh, I'd pay them $5.00 to carry the groceries up for me. I don't think no one would want to vacumm my carpet every day even though it's only two rooms with carpeting. Still a pain in the neck to me.

I would probably have to say cleaning, like dusting and mopping. I don't mind laundry and dishes and other household chores like taking the trash out, but I ABHOR mopping! Agh! Because as soon as I do, some jerk walks through the room with his shoes on and ruins all of my progress. It's like fighting a losing battle at my house it seems like.

I know exactly what you mean about mopping. I have absolutely no carpet in my house, it is all tile and wood floors. So, I literally have to mop my house in sections and let them dry before moving on. Just so I have ways to move around. How much would you pay for someone to come mop your floors and dust?

Clean my house, I'd pay 50 to 75 bucks to avoid that!

Thanks for the response. If I wasn't so picky about the way my house gets cleaned, I think I would even consider letting someone clean my house. You can ask my husband, even he doesn't quite clean the house the way I like it. But he does his best and I appreciate that greatly.

I am not willing to pay anyone to do anything for me at all. If someone is willing to do something for me it should be by heart just like I would do it.

Oh, I agree with you completely. If someone approached you and wanted to do something for you, then yes it should be done out of the goodness of their heart. I guess you could say this was a hypothetical question. But, I do thank you for responding.
