do people even fall for this..I can't even count how many emails I have received saying that I have inherited a huge amount of money from abroad...I don't even know the person they are talking about... They do sound convincing, good thing I watch he new sometimes and don't really fall easily for this. I hope people would stop trying to scamming innocent people. Can't they just find a good job and earn money themselves?

People fall victims on these scams for the greed of money. The common nature of all these scam emails are big money offered and comes with a tag "CONFIDENTIAL". Innocent people fall victims for these scams by depositing the initial money and loosing all the money they have.

Yes, I feel bad for people who get tricked by these... I hope they watch the news and learn about what happened to others.. and not to trust people with their money so easily. Luckily, there are no news about people being fooled by other people these days.

There are probably people still falling for these tricks because these scammers never stop. If they are still doing it, it means, there are people they still can trick. I've received a lot of these scam emails and I just can't help but snort at them. The latest scam I've received was an email from "FBI" warning me that if I don't reply to their email, they will come and arrest. It further said that they have warned me before and yet I did not take action so this time, they will really come and arrest me. I thought it was really ridiculous! We don't even have FBI here in our country.

There is nothing new in this.Almost every day or the other i get an email from somebody saying i have won a lottery or somebody has left a vast fortune for me.Well, all this comes in my spam folder so i don`t even bother to read them. However people do fall for such tricks and i have read in the newspapers that they have been duped.Fortunately the culprits, who are mostly from African countries, do get caught and are now languishing in prison. If such mails come in your regular inbox, mark it as spam and then forget about it.

Hello, lady1993! I am very much familiar with that kind of email. I have been receiving that kind of email for more than a decade now! I just ignore them, but if I am in the mood, I reply saying that I already have a lot of money. I will add that I am giving them all the rights to donate the money to charity. I'll no longer receive any response after that.

Yes, Some people do. The inheritance and winner ones not so much. But if trying to sell something and you get a email from a supposed interested party and they take you step by step and then try to get you to cash a check for way more than the cost of the item this is a different form of a scam. People need to be aware of the different types. This is the way of the future for organized crime. And they move so quickly it is next to impossible to catch them because they are so well organized.

I don't really agree that many of them sound convincing - how often do people inherit millions of dollars from someone they've never heard of! But, the cost of sending emails is so low, and the potential returns so high that I guess if they hook even 1 in a million people they profit. For this reason I doubt that we will see an end to these silly scams for a very long time!

Can't they just find a good job and earn money themselves? Well.. Actually, scamming is their way to earn money.. I think we can't 100% remove all the scam and fraud activities, that's why we need to be extra careful, and also spread the awareness, especially for new internet users..

People tried to scam me twice this month, once with a phoney mystery shopper job. They sent me a big check that turned out to be a phoney because I talked to the right people It's being investigated and soon the scammers will be arrested. Also, someone posing as my brother and his wife e mailed me saying they needed money as they were stuck in Europe , someone stole their credit card, money, so on. I know that is a lie because my brother is at home with his wife and didn't go anywhere lately. I will be very diligent and watchful from now on and will not fall for these scams. They are getting irritating, yes, you're right.
