It is no different than when someone asks "How are you?" and you answer "fine" ehrn you really aren't feeling too good or you have a cold or the flu. It is just an automatic response. Good luck may be nothing more than another form of greeting that is positive and pleasant.

I don't really see how there can be people in the world that don't believe in at least a degree of luck in their lives. Thus, I'm a person that thinks that love has as much bearing on our lives as the decisions and work that we put into what we are able to do in our lives. If it wasn't for those things that have happened in my life due to luck, I really don't think that I would be where I am today.

Luck is really something that is really a false concept. There is no such thing as luck, really there is just a matter of positioning us right in the position. Any success or failure is on us. There is nothing that we can do, there are lessons that we learn. Well there can be someone sabotaging us from the outside, but without any external sources, there are just many times where we are down to our own skills, where they are lacking. Sadly there are many stuck phrases right in our mind, like "good luck" that there is no replacement in our mind to really say. There are just times where we go and say it, even if we don't believe it. Or perhaps that we know that the other person does believe in it, but they do need a self esteem booster. So we talk to them in terms that they believe in. You don't have to believe in something to say it. Many people say things that they don't believe in all of the time. Simple human nature.

I do believe in luck! In fact we are the one is making our own LUCK! Saying "Goo Luck", "Best of Luck" is just another way of saying I wish you for the better! Do good in what you're doing!

It could be that saying, "Good luck," has become a habit, a quick way of saying, "I wish you well." It might also be a way of blessing someone. I don't believe in luck, but I do believe in blessings.

What a coincidence! Just three days ago, I was reading famous people's quotes online. One of them totally resemble your question. According to that quote, many people say that what they have in their lives are all because of their hard work. The celebrity then went on saying that this people do not realize that its not their hard work, but luck which gave them the success. I believe it is true. Sometimes we can work extremely hard for something and yet not get the desired result. But some others may see it. Perhaps, it is because of the luck factor. Just see what happens in a classroom. Someone who prepared very nicely for an exam might end up bombing it only because the difficult and incomprehensible exam questions. On the other side of the line, a student who did not prepare too hard for the exam get to pass with flying color. The reason can be anything ranging from direct cheating to indirect cheating like getting the questions from the test bank. In this situation, it is obvious that the cheater turned out to be luckier. No matter how some people glorify hard work, we subconsciously know that it is usually because of luck we get to succeed. Perhaps, that is why, we tell one another good luck or best of luck.

Many things in our life is happening 'automatic' by nature. Even this is also the same because those who belive in luck and those are not also are not sure whether it is ture or not. As long as we got it from our practice, we just follow. So, there is not much meaning. Even if we say good lukc or not, which make no difference. So things are the same anythig like '0'.
