Superficial things we like. Give important details that should not catch our attention. We miss the details that, in essence, does not matter. For superficial, is what we are? Or because we're afraid of things profound, deep? How superficial can be things that really matter to us, for our mental well-being and our soul? It's a thin limit somewhere, but I think no matter how superficial it's something if you do with great passion, get involved, work, somewhere still correcting.

I suppose that we usually get so involved in every day life and its never ending problems and challenges that we simply ignore the fact that there is much more in life than the daily matters we have to deal with and we get so used with this superficial attitude that we no longer crave for deeper meanings and we loose our desire to dig deep beyond the surface and discover hidden aspects of the world. It isn't something we should be guilty for because living in such stressful times hardly ever lets catch our breath,so unfortunately the moments of contemplation and meditation on the deeper meanings of life are rare for most of us.Of course,we can defeat this superficiality if we do something with passion and we are convinced that there are still so many surprising things to discover in the depths of our conscience. All we need is passion and a sense of curiosity to help us reach those depths that sometimes seem so far away.

Hi! People are naturally shallow because they tend to see what's on the surface only all the time. But the more they get to learn things the more they go deeper and realized that. So i see nothing wrong in being superficial unless you remain there and not learn at all.

Hi there Didi 13! I think it all depends upon our motivation. When our motivation is extrinsic or based on outside forces such as earning praise from others or getting the approval or your peers or getting a reward in doing something, then we become superficial. But, when our motivation is intrinsic or based on reasons within us, we usually dig deeper into matters. Intrinsic motivation means understanding the importance of something to our development and into our personality or behavior. Since it has a deeper reason, then we usually do not judge based on small details.

Hi didi We have made our lives this way today that we cannot stay away from superficiality. We have to be a part of it if we are to be called normal, sane humans. It is not because of the fact that we deep within we are insecure or workaholics but because we are lazy. We have taken the easier paths most of the times to live and there starts the problems. Today, we cannot think to walk down say 15 miles and prefer to travel by a vehicle instead. The loss is there no doubt but we are so very much conditioned from day one that we dont see the ills until it gets too late.

With all the wonderful products today people can be superficial. For example buying expensive phones because it is the current trend and it will boost their social status. We now go for material things we now pay attention to what money can buy. Money became our promRy motivator. But be wary, because when we have it all thst is when se realize the it its not all about material things that can make us happy. Superfial things can tempt us and sometimes we give in to them but let us not forget of the simple things money cant buy. When out mondy runs out, it is the people whom we were good to that will stick to us and the people who are superficial too to stick with you because yu have money.
