I am considering buying a new laptop. I use it for office work and playing movies, and traveling. I am a frequent traveler due to my job. I am not sure if I should buy a Macbook air or a IBM Series X which is ultra portable. One of the thing that really concerns me is about the compatibility of the Apply OS with different software that I will need in future for office, graphics, maybe even games, etc... 1- Do you think buying a Macbook will be more costly in long run? 2- Is it easy to find free applications for Mac? 3- Which one is more suitable for a frequent traveler? Please let me know what you think

before buying amac system you should consider the apple policies n relation to softwares or different upgrades...they are expensive!!You should know that everything under apple is under a specific licence so you must pay for all you need:graphic softwares, editors, games, utilities and so on....so if you need professioanl softwares you will be pay much money under the apple brand...so if you like really much apple and you knwo this limitation you cna buy it but personally i like more pc and not mac also because it is easy to find an alternative open source and give you much less limitation than mac or apple systems!!Normally lenovo is a good brand for laptop and desktop they enable good hardware but normally they cna be suitable for a professional life than consumer one...

I think buying a Macbook would be costly in the long run since you use the windows os for your job, you will need to adapt your work to the apple os.
