I have been watching the ads for the movie coming to the theaters on Friday. It reminds me I used to read those books. I have always felt that the book is usually better than the movie. I wonder how many people have actually read the Mars series. Edgar Rice Burroughs is a marvelous writer. Remember he is the one that brought us Tarzan. You haven't lived until you've read the real story of Tarzan. Have you read any of his books? Do you think you will after seeing this movie?

ERB had a way of writing. Adventure and description of it. And his cliffhangers were killers. Princess of Mars was great.

I've read probably 30 or 40 of the Tarzan books and all the Earth's Core books. I never really got into the Mars or Venus books. The good news about the Carter movie is that all the upper staff are fans of the books. I agree that the book is much better than most of the movies, though Greystoke was closest to the books than the rest. Yeah, I'll probably go see the movie...

All good books. Greystoke was a shock to my system. So used to seeing the fakes.
