American Idol - who got cut first?

I won't be able to see the first result night for another 7 hours or so here. But I'm curious to find out who got the first cut and the show is probably on in the States now. So America decides the bottom guy & girl, then the judges decide which one goes, is that how they do it?

@sishy7 I'm not sure actually. I kinda thought it was up to the viewers. But come to think of it, if that was the case then why are the judges there? lol or maybe it's a mixture of both? Not sure.

@VivaLaDani13 Yeah, they announced the last episode in 2016. But now I'm hearing it will be back in 2018... That wasn't the final episode after all if the show will indeed return...
