The Perfect Slice Of Bread

Oh, how warm bread coming out of the oven makes your senses just get all happy. Your mouth starts to water and you can't wait for that first warm slice of bread slathered in butter. Last night my husband made a wonderful herb bread that was perfect. This got me to thinking about bread in general. Out of all the different breads that we purchase do you realize that one of the only breads on the market that have imperfect cuts happen to be English muffins. Of course, depending on the brand. These little bits of bread are great with just about anything. Jam, meat and cheese, cream cheese with sliced strawberries. Oh the joy of a good toasted english muffin. Breads are such a wonderful comfort food.

Nothing can be compared to home made bread! Made me thinking about baking some. Since I need to use the oven it takes many hours to make it, but fresh home made bread is really something you never get at the store and not even in the bakery. The only problem is that we finish a whole big loaf in just one day, whether we are hungry or not

Too funny. Isn't it amazing how we are drawn to carbs in that manner. Oh the love of a good loaf of bread fresh from the oven. The more I talk about it, the more I want more fresh bread. As I sit here reading the comments and answering, my mouth is watering.

I've never had indian pita bread before. Sounds interesting, wouldn't mind learning how to make it. Love a good challenge.

Interesting bit of fact. I love cheese bread or any bread with cheese, and just reading this discussion makes me want to eat warm cheese bread.

I thought so too. But, if you ever look at an English muffin, they are imperfect.

Packaged bread is never as good as fresh-made, I'm glad that most of the groceries near me have bake shops in them, although at the same time, I am trying to cut down on carbs and can usually just stand there and smell the fresh baked goodness.

Ours also have bake shops too. It is amazing the different types of breads that ours bakes. We also have a couple of really great bakeries in town as well. But, we like to make our own.

I love fresh baked bread. I only wish I knew how to bake better. Bread is my downfall.

That's why I leave all the baking up to my husband. He's so much better at it.
