Does carpooling work for you to make extra money?

If the fuel prices don't go down soon people are going to have to carpool in some cases. It certainly make sense to do that anyway because a dollar saved is a dollar earned, but I hope this gas crisis end soon!!

Carpooling is really one of the better ways to save on gasoline expenses. Just one day that you don't use your car and rode with a friend or colleague can add a lot to the money you're trying to save. And sometimes taking a car could be cheaper than riding public transport. I know this from my personal experience. Going to work requires me to take three separate short trips to get to my office. Using my car costs me just 2 liters worth of gasoline which is just about the same as commuting. And if we do carpooling, I actually save money.

Hi Rodster, over here, our public transport is one of the best in the world. Even then we have to cope with crowded trains, and increasing price. Sometimes train service gets disrupted for hours and hours, and we are late for work or late in reaching home. Those with cars are finding it hard to get parking space, and the cost of fuel is another killer. I do not think gas crisis will end. I just hope that the solar technology can improve to the extent that we do not need gas anymore.
