I do not understand who is responsible for the Discussion rating in MyLot. Are they members, or administer the site, I say this because it may show a person his opinion on a subject to someone else, do not like this opinion shall be a negative appreciation. Must be a final evaluation by the neutral and specialists people. My best regards to all

All of the users are responsable for the ratings of the other users. The admins do not rate us. There are 2 links to the FAQs which explain the Discussion Rating System which you might like to read so that you understand better how to use it: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx New users cannot rate before they reach 100. This is to help avoid abuse but sadly many older users do not use it correctly, thinking that is is more of a 'like' system as other sites have As you will see in the second link, we have 3 possibilties when rating, and not only 2 as most seem to believe.

Thanks a lot, I think that It is better to evaluate and control the Rating by another third party in addition to Mylot members. My best regards.

For as long as I can remember there have always been complaints concerning the rating system but myLot have never altered it, except for a small change a couple of years ago afterwhich new users cannot rate until they reach 100. If you have reason to think that the rating system is being abused then you can contact admin and possibly he will look into it.

My idea that there should be a neutral third party for evaluating these discussions and also fairly evaluate others comments.

I guess rating can be abused by people if they don't read and follow the guidelines. I personally didn't knew about the guidelines of rating , I just rated + if I thought the starter gave some thoughts and made some good points on his subject. If someone had an opinion that was aggressive or maybe a little offensive , I would rate it '-'... I personally always try to give neutral facts that has no pros or cons about them. So people won't have negative opinions about them. I give some facts from where I have read what I write , some links.

I agree for everyone to get their report in all fairly and honosty way, and that there is third party for evaluation.

hi taheraa thats the thing a lot of us get upset about. mylot admins in the guidelines stated clearly when asked if we should minus a person because they did not agree with us; admins answer was no never give a minus to someone just because they have a different opinion. that is wrong we all should respect each others opinions. if people would read and obey the guidelines we would not give anyone a minus except when insulting or flaming.I don't think that mylot admins give any final evaluation on ratings., they do on discussions and so many here just do not believe they will get a discussion deleted just because it broke rule. admins says when they tell us no we had best listen to them.

The problem is that those who write comments on the discussions, do not know what the intention and estimation toward the discussion author, and when they evaluated their basis of values?? criteria does not appear. Then there should be a neutral third party to evaluate these discussions and fairly evaluate others comments.
