I notice many kind of smartphone nowadays, some has integrated keypad in their smartphone like blackberry while other has touch screen keypad or we call it virtual keypad like the ones in Iphone or table phone..I have experienced using both of them and feels that more convenient to use the integrated keypad ones compare with touch screen keypad..Maybe those who love to work and typing a lot will also love it but we must sacrifice the screen wide which usually wider on virtual keypad.. However, both of them still keep us using both our hand fingers... How about you? What do you think about the choice of keypad on your smartphone?

i was using a phone with a touch-type keypad before. then i switched to qwerty touch-type keypad phone. then now, i am using a touch phone. i can say that all of them have their own advantages and disadvantages. for the touch-type keypad, the advantage is that you can type even without looking at the keypads. for the qwerty touch-type keypad, you can type faster since you only need to press the letters once compared to a multi-tap keypad. however, you cannot type without looking. i am contented with the touch-screen phone i have today. even if i cannot type without looking, i can still switch from a multi-tap keypad to a qwerty keypad.

well, you have really great observation with comprehensive response...I agree with you that somehow we must choose the ones that really fit with our style. If we mobile type of person and often using something that easy to use while on the road then we must choose something that easy to use..We usually enforced to type without looking on the road, even though we unable to type fast but at least we still can do something..If we must type long story or article, better using our personal computer at home to do it.. appreciate your response..

I observed that in some cheaper models, the touchscreen was developing some kind of issues. Even in higher end phones, we have to handle it with card. Whereas the regular keypad models are not developing any issues. Neither they don't break even if sometimes we handle little careless. I'd prefer the ones with keypads, even if I have to compromise with the screen. If there is any option to attach optional keypads to those touchscreen, that would be better. If we need, we can carry it. Otherwise we can use the touchscreen. Is there any such model? (The manufacturers may give a consideration, if not.)

well, you have good points.. somehow those kind of toch screen smartphone are really prone to broke or having scratches issues. However, some phone like Iphone or samsung galaxy seems has really great material for the screen and they guarantee to be anti scracth or at least not easy to scracth..I have seen most of the touch screen smartphone should have screen protector even unable to avoid damage due to drop or fell down.. I think we can buy separate keypad for those Iphone or android series..They are not come in one package from its manufacturer..but it really helpful for keypad lovers.. appreciate your response..

There are phones with widescreen and physical keypads as well, so that would be a choice if you are really after a wide screen phone with keypad. I have used the virtual, qwerty, and the common keypad and so far I am okay with all but it is only with the qwerty type that I have not gotten so used to because I have not owned one for long.

well, you are right.. that was like blackberry torch series.. or any kind of sliding type phone, like Asus also has sliding tablet as well..but it was tablet not smartphone..Meaning we can experience both of the function in one phone..Even the phone usually more bulky and thick than other phones..Qwerty keypad is what I meant not the phone keypad which require us to press more than one time for one character.. appreciate your response..

well, you are right.. apparently the main key is how to adapt ourselves quickly with our smartphone..I remember when having touchscreen keypad on my PDA, using stylus and tap using finger is really difficult.. But after a while, it just like easy and comfortable to using the virtual keypad on it..because I have already get used to it ...really great comments...appreciate your response..
