Focus, where are you?

I should be studying yet I'm here in front of my laptop making money like it's just another mundane day for me. I should be panicking but I am still sitting down as if next week is just another school week but no, it's the exam week and I'm worrying about my grades...yet, I don't seem to be acting like it. When I try to read my books, all I can see are numbers and currencies. All I can ever think about is that I'm wasting time to study something I'll never remember when I can use the time instead to make money and build the foundation of my riches--my future. Now, I really wonder...how can I get my focus back?

You have your focus. Yes, you do. YOu have come to a point where you direct your focus to what is important for you and your future. Your schooling is not the main focus because, you cannot be rich being in school. You can be rich outside the school, doing those little things everyday, towards your focus - to become rich. Keeping your focus is difficult but you can do it. Your school books are just distractions but just for the sake of finishing this semester, go ahead and pass your subjects. Then after that, get focused on what will lead you to riches and honor. I can sense the power of focus withing your heart. Keep it that way, then learn what you can do to reach for your goals and dreams.

Thank you god_is_good! You are so nice. You are correct. I had my focus on my goal and I had deemed that going to school is a route that may hinder me from reaching my goal longer than what I'm currently doing when it should be something that will help me reach my goal. I had %100 of my focus on making money and it hurts me to take at least %25 to my studying. If only my mind can re-route itself easily...

One single solution from me: Turn off your internet connection. It surely helps.

NOOOOOO! I can't do that! I am earning even if I am not using my computer. And even if I turn off my internet connection, I am still earning. Earning money is always going on in my life. And nothing can stop me! I'm really addicted to making money, aren't I?

lol. Yeah, I love the net. It's my job to love the internet. Heck, the subject I'm studying on is still talking about the net and because of that I'm missing the world wide web! That's why I see numbers and stuff when I study. Because the book was talking about the net! But what I really want to do is learn how to make money. And I am doing a self-study about it...until this one hitch from school came.

Haha, at least now we know for sure where the distraction comes from Then don't open your browser while you are studying. Internet is the main problem to get focus in this century..

maybe you do not need to get your focus back, and just give up your study for your career. just go for your own business.

T_T If only the other parent understands. But I don't think he won't...so I have to suffer for quite a while before I can really go on with my goal--TO BE ABLE TO BUY MY DREAMS!

I am sure you will, it does take some motivation in order to get your mind on track of the more important things. Things just lack interest for you sometimes and you just need to get the mojo back in order to gain a more focused attitude. I hope you will try to focus on the school work as this is always going to be here and the school work not, Cherish it while you can. Feel priviledged you have the opportunity to have class, there are some people and kids who can't even go to school.

Thanks, NailTech. However, I never saw going to school as an opportunity. It's a privilege, yes. I have the privilege to go to a good school while other have not. But it is not an opportunity for me to get me closer to my goal. I have learned throughout the year that the schools in my country are those that produces employees--workers for someone else. And I am not the type to get into that hype. Sometimes it's bad for me to have keen observation. Let me give you an example of how my brain works: what will the students do after graduation? Look for employment. They get a job and get into debts? That path is not for me. So what I am going to do is...before I graduate, I need to get an income. An income that doesn't need me in it to work--passive income--while I go to class and get the school work done. After graduation, I will start to invest in assets--those that will generate me income without me having to work. After 5 years time, I'm retired and having a hell of a lifetime.

hi sinfulrose if you are thinking investment and passive income how come you are not getting a degree in business management as thats how to learn how to make this money.YOU still need education in order to make your online business ideas work and not fizzle out on you.hope this all works out the way you want it too.

My course is Information Technology because my skills are in this category. I am not very much good with business management because I am more on the technical and analytic side of the technical side of things...if you know what I mean... And besides, Information Technology already gets certain subjects from the business management too. Even the accounting, we took that already. And another reason why I really took Information Technology is because of one subject under one Major and that is animation. When I finally got that subject, I finally finished my goal there so it's kinda "the time to move on to the next phase of my plan" thing for my mind or "Mission completed"...do you get what I mean?

Hey sinfulrose, Focus is something that often goes hand in hand with desire. Humans find it effortless to focus on something they love, like reading a good book, or watching a movie. I guess you can try finding something related to your studies that would motivate you. For example, tell yourself that if you study hard, you can party hard afterwards, lol. Or you could reason that getting good grades will help you get a job later in life. Maybe, getting good grades would make your parents happy. Let me know if this idea works out for ya.

You've got an idea but those examples you've made kinda discourages me. -__-" I'm not a party person. I'd rather stay in front of my laptop earning money than party with my peers. As for getting a job...I really don't want that. I don't plan to work for money, instead I plan to make money--and being an employee works for money...if you get what I mean... And as for my parents...yeah, my mom would be proud. But she always is, whatever my grade is--I never failed before until I got really sick in college--like what's happening again to me right now... My dad would be poker face still, not proud. He was never proud, but he was relieved when I graduated in high school without a hitch. That means 1 year expense down; 4 years more to go, for him. I guess, nothing about school interests me anymore; despite that the course I took is something I've chosen. But I only took the course because of one certain subject in it that was never really tackled at all...When that subject was done, I lost all interest. "I already got what I wanted, it's time to go out" is what's currently happening inside my mind that sometimes even I do not understand...I guess, it's just my personality to go from one interest to another...until I get to reach the real goal... But I'll try that...if only I can find something that REALLY interests me, that is. Pray that I can...

lol. Where do I find such a place in my house? Oh! The bathroom. Seriously, nothing in my place is silent...considering we're a loud bunch of people at home. But we behave well once outside, that I can assure you.

Many times in life it is easy to loose your focus on things. Especially if it is something you really do not care about. I feel that is just always a normal part of life no matter what you are doing. But since you were in school, or still are, especially if it in college and for a career you are really wanting, you need to take time to focus on that as well. Find a way to keep yourself encouraged so you will want to study, and set a certain time for you to make sure you do this, and remember the others can wait.

I appreciate this piece of advice. However, I found that schooling can wait. Others can't if schooling means that it teaches me how to work for others and not for my self. I also found out that what I wanted for a career is very different from the course I am taking. I am taking a course that will make me work under certain companies, making others richer and I with a lot of money but exhausted. Right now, I have found my focus. And I have really set quite a bit of time for it. So now, I am pausing school for a bit and am trying to recover my degrading health. Of course, while I take a break, I am learning how to make use of my time wisely such as the ability to make money work for me. It's a decision that isn't easily understood by the majority, including my father. But I am happy that at least, my mom and siblings understood and that's enough for me. I hope, when I am finally ready for school, I have already recovered back my health and already earning quite a lot of money without having to work until exhaustion for it so that when I finally graduate, I can finally create a business that will support my family and provide them the life that they deserve and needed.

hi sinfulrose I still think Education is too important to put the ifffy getting money online ahead of it. If you ace your tests and get your degree you may be able to a great off line job in your field. online is not going ever make you really rich but off line carrers can and usually do make you well to do. I believe in first getting a great job off line then for extra funds do the online crap.It is not going to make you rich while a high paying career job can.

I do not merely earn online, Hatley. I'm also investing in my financial literacy. I don't know how to explain this but "You earn when you buy, not when you sell."--this also applies to "I am earning by investing in my brain"...Do you get what I mean? I believe that if I know more how to read numbers and find different kinds of opportunities, I can survive even without a job offline or online. I do not believe that the only way you can ever have money is through having a job. "Go to school, get good grades and have a safe and secure job" is not anymore true in this time and age. As long as one has information, one can survive--one can earn money... I do believe that education is important. I firmly believe in that. But what I wanted was the school to teach me how to survive but instead the school is teaching me how to become an employee. However, because of my duty to my father, I will try my best to "study" once again and pray that I will pass this semester despite my long absence due to health problems. Thanks for your response, Hatley! Happy MyLotting!

Hi Sinful Rose: I think you have to define your priorities. Of course online earning could be a good tool but are you 100% that you don't want to have more options. Your education is also a very valuable tool to you. Sometime we should make some sacrifices and even stop doing what you like could be hard you have to cultivate your discipline and give a right time to study to be a professional. Explore more than just one option my friend. ALVARO

You are correct starsailover. I really have to define my priorities...which I already did. Here they are, if you want to see them: 1. To be (filthy) rich. 2. To be (so) comfortable. 3. To be secured (at least for three more generations ahead of me). Seriously, that's my priority in the simplest form. Impossible? I don't think so. But going on, what I mean that you are correct is that it really is hard to stop doing what I like the most and discipline myself to do other things. It needs me to give up %95 of my life and do the things what other people expects me to do. The feeling of giving them up is like clipping my wings off...and getting to successfully pass that kind of test really makes a human person strong. Note: "I don't want to be a professional employee. I want to be the lazy employer." Thanks for that insightful response. Happy MyLotting!

School is not for you, my friend. Your destiny belongs to another place. But if you want to give it another try in the future, then go for it. I had this same situation just recently, and I've decided to quit school and start engaging in a business. But I plan to enter college again and finish my desired degree.

hi sinful rose I bet your dad understands a lot more than you think I bet he feels you need this education to come first to help you to manage this plan of yours.I think you should listen to your dad and finish college before all this gain with no work.

That's a very brave decision you made, alphenor. If I were to do that, I would have to go against my father, who is my provider. I wish I can relay to him my thoughts but I am not feeling positive that he would understand. I hope you are doing well in your business, my friend. And good luck in your desired degree. Have a nice day and happy MyLotting!

He does not know of my plan...yet. Nor do I know what his plan for me is...yet. But I know he is disappointed in me because of what I had decided to do with my life. We don't talk to each other much, considering that he's an OFW. And besides, my father is kinda the type of person who could not really get what we want. But he knows what he thinks that we need. I am proud that my father is a responsible man. But I am not proud I am a daughter of a person who rarely listens to family (Yeah, he hears us out but it goes out the other ear) but listens to strangers instead. He's kinda close-minded, Hatley. And sadly, it might be because something happened to him years ago while at work and we didn't know anything about it. Since then, we became further apart. I will still accomplish my duty to my father, that I can assure you, Hatley. But when it is all said and done, I will do what I think is what I should do that would lead me to my goal--Financial Freedom.
