For some reason, my internet speed is like moving at a snail's pace. I mean, it's really slow, and the timing couldn't be worse. I'm downloading a media file that I need for work. I can either rant about it or do something with the time. Well, I figured why not log in to myLot and at least make my idle time productive . Well, I'm just wondering when this happens to you folks out there, do you just cuss and rant about the slow internet speed or you do something else?

Slow internet connection? I still have Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Corel Draw, plenty of games, Eclipse and ... offline life! So, it doesn't matter if the connection was being too much slow. I will just close the browser and start to do something else.. But if the slow connection happen when I need to do assignment, I will definitely visit my college or cyber cafe..

Yeah, if something really immediate needs to be done, I also have no choice but to go visit a cyber cafe and do my downloading there. I'm fortunate that we have one that's just walking distance from my house.

Yeah, me too! But unfortunately, it is not 24 hours. It is closed after 11 PM. So, I need to assure that I have every materials that I need to do an assignment before 11 PM..

Or you could also have a prepaid broadband stick handy in case you need to do your assignments past closing time of the cafe. I actually keep one just in case and an unused prepaid card just in case.

This past few days I've been experiencing intermittent connention with my internet. It's just keep going 'on' and 'off' all day. When it's on, it's still doing regular speed; I notice when the connection is off because speed slows down. Very annoying! What could be the reason?

Sometimes I myself wonder why I also experience these things, and to think that I've just upgraded my plan with a higher speed. I'm using DSL and I think one problem is the line outside of my house. There's some "interference" I think. That's probably one of the disadvantages of having a single line for your phone and internet.

That's usually one of the reasons the speed slows down a bit, when a lot of people are simultaneously accessing the internet. Even at home there are times the speed's affected when all of us are downloading at the same time. But electrical interference is also another factor. Actually, the technician had in fact put the wire far from the electricity line. He said that it might affect the connection if the two wires are near each other.

I think that's it, interference. It's been happening at work especially around lunch time. Last Friday I came early and stayed later, and when I used the internet during those times it was normal. So there must be too many co-workers using the internet through many different devices at the same time which caused congestion.

Oh so thats wat you mean with the advantage youre talking about. I thought it was like the time when i was very angry with a friend abroad that i wrote a message to express my anger. I couldnt send the message bec internet was going crazy, then i gave up.... the next day i was determined to rewrite the letter i saw a new message from that person explaining several things i didnt know and because of that i forgot about thr letter and dropped my anger haha

Actually, that is also another advantage It gives us the opportunity to collect our thoughts either intentionally or because whatever emotions we had had waned or dissipated. It seems like these "interruptions" happened for some reason

We are experiencing the same speed I guess, since last week we are extending patience with this very slow connection. I chose to logout after few minutes of doing some important things online. But anyway, in my case, I was able to do a lot of offline activities such as, sorting my cabinet, cleaning my table and others.

Yeah, we could always do a lot of offline activities when we experience problem with our internet connection. Even some basic household chores. It makes our time productive instead of just waiting for say a download to finish.

Hahaha! I find myself doing the same thing a lot. I do cuss about he slow internet connection. But you're right, if there's nothing you can really do about it, unless have someone else download the file for you, then you might as well divert your attention to something else!

I myself really need to divert my attention to something else. If I don't, the added stress brought about by the slow internet connection might eat me up. I mean, it's work is stressful enough as it is at times, getting frustrated with a bad connection just adds to it. Good thing we always have choices :)

today, we want everything to be fast! especially teens! to wait for a few seconds is already too difficult for them! i am happy for you that you are able to find something good with slow internet connection..maybe more people can use that time too to reflect on things and relax for a while!

That's true. We're presently living in a fast-paced world that we do things as quickly as we can just to keep in pace, and with this, we forget to reflect on things. These slow internet speeds could be an opportune time for us to take a break from this fast-paced world :)

I am glad that you can still think it positive when the internet connection is slow. Sometimes when you can't change something, then you have to learn to adjust to it. Although a slow internet connection is not a good thing:) I love China

Slow internet connection is really a bad thing for me. It makes my work very difficult. But I guess I accepted the fact that these are things I can't do anything about. I could rant and call my provider but I feel it's a futile effort since I'm sure they'll be saying that it's a technical problem that they're presently fixing. We really just have to adjust to things, make the best out of a situation :)

It really does teaches us to be patient . This isn't the first time I've experienced slow internet speed. As a matter of fact, before I upgraded, I get frustrated almost every time I download a file. I guess I got used to it already and learned how to be patient when this happens.

If the connection is very slow then it really irritates. But if its just slow, we can do something else besides using the browser. Happy mylotting.

That's very true. Slow connection speed can really be irritating and test our patience. But we could avoid getting upset by doing other things online or offline :)

Hmm, I think it's a good thing for you that once in a while your internet speed is slow. You get a chance to have your life back outside of the cyber world. But that's true, there are really a lot of things we can do during those times when our internet connection is frustratingly slow.

Thanks. Actually, I really have no choice. When it's peak hours, the connection speed slows down a bit. But I was just a bit surprised that the speed was slower than the usual peak hours speed. It went back to normal speed after two hours though, so I guess the problem was only minor.

i i really need to get something downloaded fast i get a little irritated, but if there is no emergency i don't mind.i always have a lot of things to do till the connection starts to work faster.i am lucky that my internet connection is pretty good so i don't face this problem to much.

I know how you feel. In my line of work, sometimes it's very crucial that I download a certain file as fast as I could since the client expects it finished the same day. And if the speed is slow, I not only get irritated, I also get stressed up. It's a good thing that when I experienced this slow connection speed the last time, the file wasn't due the same day :)
