Do you hate the subject math? I did! During my elementary education I don't have the nerve to look at the face of my teacher in math because she might ask me the product of 9 times 8 whose answer I could not give at that time. Or she might ask me the sum of 89 plus 98 which I think I can give the answer after a century! I could hardly pass mathematics during my elementary education. But when I reached high school I had a 180 degrees turn around in my view of mathematics. This time I learn to love math. College life was exiting to me... I first enrolled Bachelor of Arts. After one semester I shifted to engineering. When I was fifth year in engineering I stopped due to health problems. Then I got married. After my wife gave birth to our first child, I went back to school and this time I took up Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and successfully graduated with this degree. Now I am teaching tertiary mathematics subjects in a university and sometimes I also teach mathematics subjects in the graduate school. Aside from my BS Mathematics degree, I also finished a graduate course.

Hello Factorial, Mathematics was always my favourite subject in school as well as college.I always got highest marks in mathematics.I never like subjects like social science or language and to day too i always try to solve maths problems if any one ask me.I don't know why people find it so difficult as in my opinion its not that much difficult one just need to understand the basics.

i think the way we like or dislike a subject is really depend on how the teacher teach us. I experience similar thing. When i was in elementary education, i was always rank the last or second to last in my class. At junior high my rank is in the middle, and at senior high, i was at top 10.

I love math, its amazing really, but it depend on your teacher who is teaching this subject to many students, if they are good you will like the math, if they aweful you will hate the math for sure, so here is what I think, hope i helped many in this math.

nice one sir factorial altho i hate factoring and the LCD. me i blame math for my height. u know i'm vertically challenged. when i was growing up i'm afraid of math and my math teacher (mrs. permato, concepcion elementary school, 1965). so whenever i'm in my 2nd grade math class i try to shrink and make myself small and i hope i become invisible so she will not see me and not make me multiply and divide. :)

Math is indeed one of the subjects that I hate most. Since elementary till college (except Statistics), I always hate Math. I always got low grades in my report card (even failures too). When I entered into both local and online business, I realized that Math is really one important key. Right now I'm already a graduate, and I'm always computing daily sales in my columnar book. We can hate Math in the first place until we love it. :)

I don't appreciate math to study. Of course it is too hard for me to understand. But then now I realized the relevance in life especially the business math. It is for us as well that we can't be totally fooled by other people.

I am somewhat the opposite. Math was always my best subject since 1st grade, and by the time I was in high school I took advance calculus with only two other students. So in college, I took Math major as I couldn't think of any other major that would interest me. Well, that only lasted one semester as I failed my math courses. I guess I got burned out by math and when I failed I realized that I needed to rethink about my major. I eventually switched and got my MBA. I didn't have to take any more math subject in college as I have fulfilled all math prerequisite for business major while in high school.

I don't hate Math. i actually understand most of it. What I don't like is the word problems. Give me equations any day, but don't muck them around with words. I tend to get lost in those word problems. lol

Congratulations on your achievements! I know I'll never be able to compete with that! lol. I didn't really hate Math. I just thought it was pretty boring and tedious at the same time. I felt like I always had to give more attention to details compared to my other subjects. When i reached HighSchool, I was devastated though because then I had to deal with Trigo, Geo, Alge, and Stat! That's when I learned to hate Math-- well, maybe just Stat and Geo. lol. So when it's time for me to decide which course to take up in college, I chose the course that won't deal so much with Math: BA! haha

When I was at school I dreaded maths and I was always afraid to look at the teacher in fear of being asked a question, I also used to try and sit at the back of the class, I just didn't get it all...

When I was at school, I first loved maths and then (when we got to calculus) couldn't follow it and so felt that it was 'not my subject'. Very much later (after the pressure of classes and exams), I picked up a book which explained why it was necessary and I was hooked! Once you understand why something is necessary and useful, it is easier to understand why you should learn it. In fact, everybody can learn anything they want to ... or perhaps NEED to!

Mathematics is a difficult subject for me and I don't like it. When I was a student in high school, I often failed this subject. Perhaps I don't have the talent in mathematics. The worse thing is we have to study mathematics from primary school until university. It is still one of the most important subjects here. I love China

It only means that you're really good in Math, it's just that you're not yet aware of that talent when you were in elementary. Do you still have communication with your elementary teachers? If I were one of your elementary teachers, I would be very proud of you, and I would request you to teach me.
