unconditional love...what does it means?

It's basically loving someone and that's it, period, no ifs or buts. I mean, there are no other conditions. You love someone for who that person is. You don't try to change him even if what he does is against your principles and beliefs. You also don't expect anything from him, even loving you back. It's really hard to love someone unconditionally especially in relationships. The only example I could think of is the love a mother or father has the first time they see their newborn child. Whether the child is beautiful or a bit homely in appearance, it doesn't matter. They just love him as he is.

Loving someone with all your heart...standing by them no matter what circumstances....loving them inspite of the world.

In my mind, unconditional love mean that someone who really care about others from the deepest of their heart and without expecting something in return.

Maybe your friends mean you are loved by someone so deeply, that the one who love you gave you everything, without any regrets, would be even beyong anything. I'm not sure if 'unconditional love' a good thing. I think it would lead things to a extreme level which can be unexpected.
