If someone believes it does and keeps eating the apple religiously, I can imagine that simply by having trust in it, it does... Today's apples are covered with pesticides and preservatives, and have much less vitamin content than decades ago, unless you eat organic apples. But yes, I think there is something in it - years ago i ate not one but several apples every day, and though I can't say i always felt perfect, I was quite healthy.

Well, it is true because every disease and illness human ever encountered during their existence on earth are the result of not eating at least one apple a day, so it is a non brainer to say otherwise. I am sure every doctor will smile to his/her herat content upon reading this time tested tip from the dieter and nutritionist.

It will be the nicest thing ever happen to mankind and humanity.

Yes, hunibani, that's what i have read as to the benefits of having an apple a day. Although, they say that when you eat the apple, you should eat them with its skin on. That's because it's the skin that contains the cancer preventing enzyme. If it would have been that apples are indigenous here in our place,Philippines, i could have always eaten one or two a day. Though, i don't like eating it with the skin on. I find it hard to chew and swallow.

Hi, One Apple per day will not keep doctors away. Its a trash.Never believe such articles.I have the habit of eating daily one apple from past 5 years.Even i too get fever or other common problems. Have a proper diet. Don't eat outside food.Try to avoid packed food such as kurkure, lays etc.....Then you will be healthy compared to others people.

I think the saying originated in olden times when people ate very few vegetbles and fruits and were lacking in vitamins. Apples are wonderful, they are full of good vitamins and fiber and certainly contribute to good health. However, a word of caution. Because we all want perfect fruits, with no blemishes apples these days are sprayed with pesticides and fungicides up to 13 times until harvested, so they are no longer as healthy as we think. I tend some dwarf apple trees in a community garden. We cannot use any chemicals. So about 70% of the apples are wormy, the rest are scabby, which does not affect the taste but looks ugly. When the apples ripen they are also pierced by wasps and pecked at by birds which allows bacteria to multiply and make the apples rot. So last year if a tree had 100 apples we got maybe 6 or 7 that looked great. Also the organic apples are much smaller but also sweeter.

Its just a belief eating and apple a day won't keep you way from the doctor. Eating and apple is good for you and will help reduce getting sick as well as other health foods, and working out. But everyone gets sick you can't go your whole life with out getting sick. Weather you see the doctor when your sick or not is up to you.

Apples are nature's perfect food. It has lots of health benefits and the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away" has some truth to it. If you ate apples everyday along with other vegetables and fruit, you would stay healthy and won't need to see the doctor.

If a person uses that statement as a positive affirmation and they follow through by... eating an apple a day... They might experience fewer visits to the doctor; however, that statement doesn't guarantee wonderful health.
