A friend of mine recently posted something on how to get rid of the timeline on facebook, and I must say I tried it the way she said and it worked. I just had to click on "Click Added To Chrome" instead of "REMOVE TIMELINE?" as it says below. Here is the info you need to know on how to do this. Users have to use GOOGLE CHROME: go to TOOLS, click EXTENSIONS, then click bottom link- MORE EXTENSIONS, type in TIMELINE REMOVE, a post on right of page says- REMOVE TIMELINE? CLICK IT, (YOU DONT HAVE TO 'LIKE' IT) then REFRESH FACEBOOK & you should have the Old FB Wall Back!!

i will be keeping this some where safe just in case i accidently get it haha but so far i have not switched to the new timeline. i will be telling my husbadn how to get it off of his tho lol he hates it and isnt sure how he ended up with it. i do not like it and i find it as a waste of time. it is harder to find information than it was before. "if its not broke dont fix it". i liked the old page better because it was easier to understand but like someone else said i heard that at some point every facebook page is going to end up with it. BUT i also heard that because everyone is pitching such a fit about it that it will either go away of become optional but this i am not sure of so do not hold me to that.

I agree with you, my sentiments exactly on "If it's not broke, don't fix it" thing. I hope the last sentence you mentioned is true, and they do give an option, that would be far better than forcing us to get it.

I think they wanna update their site and they try too many different things. I don't think they need to though, it was fine as is, some sites do improve things but others not so much.

yes i do not understand why sites or any thing for that matter wants to change something when there is nothing wrong with it to begin with. it doesnt make sence lol because usually they make it worse than it was before haha. i am also hoping they will give us an option i do not think it is right to "force" people to use something they do not like. but most people will just say if you dont like it dont use it and i understand that lol but when i have used it this long and use it to keeo in touch with a lot of people i really cant just NOT use it....

I don't know why you would want to revert back. What's wrong with timeline? I like it. It's not better than before but it's not bad either, don't you think so?

Personally, I just don't like it. I would rather keep the old style. But for those who don't like it there is a solution. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it stays this way too.

That is your opinion and your decision, so I respect it. I'm not really on Facebook most of the time anyway so I guess it makes no difference to me and for me.

I hear ya, I don't spend much time on it anymore but alot of my previous long time online friends and such are still using it for their games, etc. so I find them there when I can.

I do not like the timeline and it irritates me that Facebook is making all of us go to it, I think on the 31 of this month. I wonder if this trick will work after the forced change? I will keep your post and try it then. I don't use Chrome as a rule, but it will be worth it to not have to put up with the timeline.

I wonder too, but I guess we will see if it does or not. I was given the info from a friend on there and she said it worked too so I'm keeping the info in case I need it again.

Hi Nailtech, Thanks for the info, it could come in handy someday. Well, I haven't switched to timeline and don't plan to. My brother, however, accidentally turned it on, and had to edit his whole profile. He might find this method useful to turn it off.

Vvance, it will be mandatory soon, and everyone will have to have it wether they like it or not. That is what they keep saying, so I tried to be prepared a head of time and did it so I could "alter" some things but I found out it was still quite annoying. There are people who like it so if you do then kudos to you!

Which chrome version you using? there is no MORE EXTENSIONS in here mine is latest one. But i know that there is extension which can be found by app store whose link is always on chrome when one install it. Personaly i like the timeline but it is some waht clutter and too tight to get more information on a single bar also some time annoying too. but who cares i don't see profile much just keep on with the updates.

well, i have so far shunned to apply timeline on my facebook account. i am so used and familiar with the facebook page. any changes will rock my focus and old familiar world. well, i read mixed reviews on timeline. some people wanted to have their old facebook pages. others appreciate the timeline. so far, i am neutral on this.

I wouldn't rush into it either, i did it on one acct that I am trying delete now anyways, and have made another acct for a different reason. I had the timeline on that previous acct so I tried it on there and it was gone as per the instructions. If I have to use it on the new acct I just recently created then I will just use this info on there as well, once they make it mandatory.

I don't like the timeline, I find it confusing so I've no intention of making any alterations to my FB page with this timeline nonsense, but word is like or not it's inevitable that FB will make the changes on their own at a certain period, whether we like it or not. But I'll keep this information closeby just in case it does happen. Hopefully it'll work when/if the time is right.
