Shortage by 2050

I saw a report on the news not long ago that the world will have a water shortage by the year 2050. This sounds very upsetting because without water nobody can survive. I am not surprised though because there is too much pollution and the climate is changing and the earth is getting warmer. Scientists say that the arctic oceans have warmed up by one degree which doesn't seem like a lot but it is and will be devastating if it warms up every year. I think we should do more to take care of our world because there may not be one for future generations. Your thoughts, My Lot, friends!

I can seriously believe that we will have a shortage. We do nothing to save our environment and just let it keep getting worse and worse. I think I will go look this up and read it for myself.

I have looked it up online and it is scary to think about. Most of the hardest hit areas will be in the western/south western states/. It is not a pleasant thing to think about.

This is so sad. I also read about this and I was not happy to know, I am afraid for the future for my son. So I think each one of us should start doing our share today. If we can atleast slow down global warming we must atleast help our mother nature.

i disagree with this. there's plenty of ocean water that can be cleaned into fresh water for human use.

I agree that the weather is getting warmer, but it is not actually so warm than it was in the 11th century, when vineyards were growing in the north of England : even without pollution, the climate has always changed, and we should not forget that we are actually between 2 glaciations. I remember to have seen some fossils of bamboo in Sweden, so we have still a good margin before a water shortage in your or my country. Indeed a few degrees more has consequences on environment, but I think that the only persons interested to spread these news about a water shortage in a near future in our western countries are water companies.

this is a foreseeable crisis because of what humans have been doing. if i were president, i would like to stop the manufacturing of plastic bags because it doesn't do anything good but pollution. we can use our bags and paper bags but why do we still have all these plastics around us. i am pissed. it is just very sad because our children in the future will be the ones to suffer most.

i agree that we are in for some troubling times ahead. i believe that this will be an issue along with droughts leading to another depression as seen as the one in the 1930s.

I'll be gone by then but mr grandsons and their children (if they have any) will be here. I've really noticed the climate change. We didn't even have winter this year. It has been like spring the whole winter. I rarely had to wear a sweater. I live in GA. its been warmer than usual this year. I haven't heard about the lakes being down. I know some years they are. Maybe we should also be concerned about birth control. It's a wonder where the room is to hold them all. Some countries are severly over crowded.
