Getting referrals is very difficult unless.....

I am in absolute amazement right now. I struggled for a few years to try and earn at least a decent income online. No matter what I tried I just could not make enough to justify the hours and effort I put into it. Every time I would find something I was passionate about I would do everything I could to try and make a good go at it but for whatever reason it just never panned out. I tried everything from paid to click, paid to post, surverys, ebay, even mlm ( GDI ) and for me getting referrals was nothing short of a miracle really. I thought about trying Scentsy candles, Mary Kay and other products like that, but for me the idea of throwing parties was terrifying, not to mention products like that are not something that are easy to sell anyhow unless someone has already heard of it, or is really into that kind of thing. Then 9 times out of 10 if they've already heard of it they already have someone they buy from. Needless to say an online friend of mine that I've been interacting with now for about 4 years started using this program to lose weight. He lost an incredible 102 pounds and is still losing. That's not a typo you read right 102 POUNDS!! So naturally in seeing his results I had to ask him I said "what are you doing?" guess what,.. he didn't have to sell me the product. It sold itself. Seeing his results and results of other people using this stuff, the community support where the others in the program would cheer him on via his Facebook page I was amazed. So I joined. I've just barely gotten started and already lost 12 pounds. Now my friends are asking me "what are you doing" and in less than a few weeks a few have already joined me on this new adventure. I didn't have to "sell it" to them. This product is selling itself. So my point is,.. it is very difficult to get referrals unless people can actually see with their own eyes the miracles unfolding, or unless you have tons of money to spend on advertising LOL! I'm sticking with this program. I joined it to lose weight not even knowing about the monetary benefits, I learned about that after joining, so guess what? Very soon I'll be getting my first pay check = I'm getting paid to lose weight, get healthy and help others do the same.

Yes, really. Some products sell themselves. Yet, you will have to find targeted audience if you are trying to move products. Instead, if you can motivate people with earning possibilities, you can get more referrals. And begging them never works. Just keep hunting. If anyone is asking more than reasonable question, most probably he/she won't sign up. Just pass them up and look for next one. When your team size becomes considerable, the promotion happens automatically and we will have good testimonials to convince people. I had the same problem of getting referrals earlier. Fortunately, I got a webmaster who taught me the lessons. (Now I don't know where is. He is residing somewhere in US.) The important part of the lesson was "Never beg anyone to be your referral. Show them the opportunity and if they show any interest, then follow up 2 or 3 times. After that leave it to their choice and look for the next one". True it works. Building trust and relationship with the team members will enhance the business level.

Very well said venkataraman. I guess that was my difficulty was recognizing when someone might be interested or whether I should have passed them up. You've made good points here and I will use that in my new endeavor.

Indeed, back when I was trying to make some money in the MLM's I would mostly sign up with people I trusted. Sometimes they helped and sometimes they didn't. I don't blame them for my failure at all though I know that some "business" can scam just about anybody. I'm glad your new member has decided to join you trustingly :)

So True, So True so True, and when someone can see what you are doing is really working for you, then they are curious and will ask you more about it, and many times want to jump on board as well. I wonder if you are doing the same thing I am, as I just started with a company doing a weight loss challenge and starting to feel a lot better. For me it is not necessarily me needing to loose weight, as I am just barely overweight, but to have more energy as well.

Krause I am doing Visalus. I absolutely love the stuff and it tastes great :-) I'm hoping that as I lose more weight, more people will jump on board. I initially started it for the weight loss, then I realized on my 3rd or 4th day my energy was through the roof and I felt fantastic for the first time in forever. Then I found out about about the income part of it and was blown away by some of the success people are having. Is that what you're doing?

Am glad for you that at least you finally found something that works and not just that you are able to ake soething out of it.Most people give up before getting something like this. How many people actually get fed up after many tries whereas they are just a few more trying to get what they need.Congratulations once again

Thank you Byola. Yes unfortunately people do give up sometimes even before giving any program a real good try. Many people seem to want fast results with little effort, but as the old saying goes,..good things come to those who wait. The thing they don't realize though is while they are waiting they have to work towards their goal. Sad really, I myself am guilty of making that same mistake. I've given up sometimes far too soon. I'm really happy I've found this though because it really is working for me and I'm excited for the first time in years. Thanks again for the congratulations and for responding to my discussion. :)

Congrats on finding something that will work for you! It's always great to hear success stories! A good lesson, if it's working for you, make others see how it's working for you. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you Amy I am really excited about this and I truly believe that this will be my niche. I think I've finally found my "pot of gold" in many ways,.. health wise most importantly, and money wise secondly. For once I finally can not wait to see what the future holds and it's a very good feeling for me :)
