I joined odesk for a very long time. But i have never done any real job yet. I once received one interview before, but before i saw it and replied, it is out-of-date. Last week, i tried to apply to two jobs, as you know, newbies like me only have two quotas. But until today, i have not got any reply yet. When i click the application i applied, i find: All Applicants for this Job None . what does it mean? why in all application for this job is none. Even there is no others apply this job, what about me? Is there anyone who have really done jobs in odesk can tell me the mechanism of this site? Thanks a lot!

You can't get responses early as you are new to earn there. You must wait for some days and you will start getting replies for this. I hope best for you. Good day and best of luck :)

Well, i know it will be a little hard for a newbie to get job in every site, in fact, the more you are there, the easier you will get one job. But could we know whether or not this task creators have interviewed others, or could we know it is time for us to leave him and look for other jobs? Because as you know, if i don't withdraw these two applications, i can't apply other jobs. What if they just don't reply, and have hired someone to do the task?

I just signed on a few days ago...and I believe I won't be getting much invitations given your experience. There was one for a translation job. I chose to pass, and hope other better ones will come along. Cheers April.

Hi,the two jobs i applied to were also tranlations works. I think compared to other jobs, i got more advantages in the tasks of translate english into my native language. But it has been five days after i sent out my applications. If they don't want to hire me, they should give me a answer, right? Or will all the clients just don't reply to those who don't want to hire?

It's really difficult to get a job there especially if you're a newbie. You have to be patient and wait. Try searching for administrative work. Finally, for several months I have gotten a job there. You have to have a good feedback, too to be considered. Since, you're new or doesn't have any experience there try to lower your rate. That's the only way you can lure clients to pick you.hehe.

Good advice, it seems i have to put my rate very low to attract interviews from clients.

It seems most members of odesk are not active there. Well, yes, i have seen that i have only two quotas of application before i complete odesk readness test, i once tried to do the test, but it is all about its guidelines and rules( i thought it is about grammar or sentence structures). since i have not read through all the guidelines and rules, i gave up. It seems it is really complicated. I wish it can be a little simple.

If that is so, then Odesk is really a difficult place to find job! I joined Odesk almost 5 years ago, until now, I still don't know what to do with that site. Just seeing the whole site makes my head ache. That's why I don't go back there anymore.

Oh, five years! i have joined it about half a year. So many people say it is a good site. And i trust it too. The problem is i think it is too complicated. It seems only after we pass the interview we can get a real chance to do tasks. I tried to apply to two jobs, but it has been five days, there has been no answer yet, i wish there will be a sign that tells me have i been rejected by the client or he or she has not selected the right worker yet. It really makes me crazy just waiting in vain.

I am also a member of odesk, and have earned nothing so far, because I haven't done any sort of job on the site yet. I been there for about a year. I gave up on it. Its just a SCAM.
