A magnificent performance by spinner Rangana Herath who claimed 12 English wickets in the match helped Sri Lanka win the first test match played at Galle, Sri Lanka. England fought brilliantly in second innings but fell short of the target as the same was quiet steep because of failure of batting line up in first innings. When Trott and Prior, who put on 81 runs for the fifth wicket, were batting it looked England may reach the target with ease but after the fall of Prior on 233 with just 107 runs short of target and 5 wickets to go, target looked achievable but English lower order collapsed like a pack of cards. Trott was magnificent today. He scored 112 and was seventh to be out. Sri Lanka now leads the series 1-0. Herath was judged man of the match for his magnificent 12 wickets in the match.
