Does the Bible Foretell the Future??

Can God foretell what is going to happen? In Isaiah 46 He says through his prophet: "9Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure..." (King James Version) Here is one example: About 200 years in advance Isaiah tells who is going to conquer Babylon. His name - Cyrus - is mentioned long before he was born. The strategy Cyrus used was described accurately. Cyrus diverted the Euphrate River that protected the city. The massive two-leaved doors had been left open, just as Isaiah described. The inhabitants didn´t care to close them as they felt very safe. The victory was easy for Cyrus and his army. They could cross the river and enter through the open doors! The prophecy is found in Isaiah 44:24-45:7 - why not read it today? This is only one example of that God can foretell the future, and we can find a lot more. What about the prophecies that tell us what will happen in the near future? The prophecy that the evil will be taken from the earth and that it will become a beautiful paradise where those who live there will never die? See Psalm 37 Can we trust that the Bible foretells the thruth about the future?

Yeah, well it absolutely should foretell the future as we have observed through the past and present, not one Bible prophecy remained unfulfilled or ever went wrong. So the ones who are still awaiting fulfillment, would sure be on their way to reality, i absolutely believe that.

Yes, the more I have studied the Bible during many years, the more proof I find that it must be inspired by God - and I think this prophecy about Cyrus is so great, as it mentioned his name 150 years before he was born.. As you are saying, all prophecies have been fulfilled so far and we may soon see the attack on Babylon the Great, the false religion. Who knows exactly when the rest of the prophecies will be fulfilled but if we keep near God and follow Christ, we have nothing to worry about! Have a great day..

Titus 1:2- God cannot lie. So he has "Never lied to us" nor will he ever. He is perfect and he has proved many times in the bible that when he says things will happen and they have. So when he says there will be a new heavens and a new earth, there will be in the future. Rev. 21:1. I don't doubt the True Gods words in the bible about the past or the future. Do you even know his true name? Do you know that on April 5 world wide is the memorial for Jesus Christ? Let me know if you want more info where at.

Hi, lizzyt - nice to meet you! I am happy that you believe in the prophecies of the Bible. Yes, I know the name of the True God, it is YHWH, Yahweh, of Jehovah.. "18 That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth." Psalm 83:18 (American Standard Version) Yes, the Memorial is here too on the same date as in your place, after the sun goes down, so we start earlier than you do as we are in Sweden - I was counting how many years I have been present..it must be the 51st year now.. Would be nice to learn to know you better..

Yes I believe in everything that the Bible says because those are the words of GOD. For example, some people would argue that the Bible is not true or not all of it is true but you should be aware that once you have sincerely read it with the help of the Holy Spirit, guiding you to better understand the wo rd of GOD, you'll eventually find out that it is 100% true and reliable. Just look around and you'll understand, for example many people insist that the Bible is incorrect but how come tons of people blatantly support or worst worships the Satan. Even on the internet and especially on showbusiness particularly on Hollywood, many supporters of evil agenda have showed their support to the devil through symbolisms, hidden messages, etc on pictures, movies, music, etc. In fact some of them really admits being a supporter of the devil. Just look at those who uses the "666" symbol, satanic handsigns, eye of horus/satan (eye on a pyramid), etc., it just shows that there are people supports the evil agendas of the devil so it's upto you which side you're going to be with. I definitely am on GOD's team. Lastly, it's very easy to be saved as it was stated in Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:it is the gift of GOD: not of works, lest any man should boast. In short salvation is a free gift, and all you have to do is to repent and accept Jesus Christ as your GOD and Savior. Romans 3:23 states For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD; so don't worry GOD will surely be able to forgive you as long as you repent sincerely and accept HIM as your Savior.

You are right in that there is a lot of things on the Internet and TV and in other places that we have to avoid to please God. He wants to protect us so obeying Him is for our own good. I started this discussion to encourage those who don´t believe in the Bible to start studying it and maybe find the truth with God´s help. There are many prophecies that are being fulfilled in our time and the plan of God is to clean this earth and make it to a wonderful paradise as He planned from the beginning. The bible quote above from Isaiah chapter 11 is so encouraging. Wish you well..
