I noticed today that my laptop isn't charging. I tried to pull the plug off and my laptop went off. I just bought this new battery and it seemed like is not working. When it's fully charged, I like to use it with just the battery and not plug it in, and it just turned off by itself even I only use 20% of the battery. I wonder what is wrong with it! Do you think I got a defective battery or something?

How old is your laptop. Normally, though the compay says that it will last for 2 hrs. or more, it will last as much within the 1 year time and afterwards the performance go down. My laptop is nearly 4 years old and it worked well for the first 2-3 years and now, if it works for 15 mts. without charging, it will go off. Means, the peformance of the battery is weak and need replacement. But in your case, you have to check for 2-3 times and if it repates you may have to consult with the vendor what is the issue. If it is a brand new or within the 1 year time, you will get the service and beyond the warranty period, you may have to get it serviced.

Yes, even I think you need to go for a replacement. But before going for it, just check for few more attempts. It it is giving the same result again and again, you have to replace it. Regards

Thanks for your comment. My laptop is 2 1/2 years old, and the new battery is brand new, but I don't know if I can return it back coz I am from Philippines and my husband bought it in the US and he won't be back until the end of June. :-( I think this is just the new battery coz the original battery lasted 30 mins since the battery needed replacement.

Chicgale: From what you have described, I think it must be manufacturing defect/problem with the battery. There is 40% chance for it to be attributed to the charger also. please check up. best wishes
