Silent Hill 2: My Favourite :)

Greetings silent hill fans.
Here is a post for one of my favourite games of all time. I remember playing it some years ago on my pc and I played it again last year and it can still get you creeped out. What do I like the most? The atmosphere. I've never experienced such a great atmosphere in a horror video-game. Music and visual effects (fog darkness) are combined together perfectly, when you enter a room and you start hearing the Akira's wicked mechanic sounds you just watch James startled. And I shouldn't forget about the static radio signal that keeps you on edge all the time ;) On top of it in this silent hill we find the best silent hill boss and one of the best bosses of all times, Pyramid Head, (spoiler alert!!!) especially when you are locked together with him, in a really close space, not being able to hurt him, dying with a single hit, must be the most intense scene of the game. Now about the story (spoiler alert!!!) it is simply amazing. In most of the game James seems to be the victim of the whole situation and Mary seems like the bad person in the start and Maria seeming to be a healthy version of Mary who is also seems to be torturing James, though later James is revealed to be the bad guy after all and the killer of Mary but even when he is revealed, it comes together in a way that does make you not disliking James or Mary but more of it being sad of the whole situation.
Anyway that's my story about SH2. What's your favourite one people? Do you think that there will ever be a really good silent hill again like the first 3 ones?

I thought this was about the movie silent hill, i wanted to share my thoughts, now i get it , this is about PC Gaming, My favorites are

The Silent Hill movie wasn't bad either, it had some flaws surely but it wasn't a bad transformation to a movie. :) If you like horror games and you don't mind about playing with ps2 graphics then you should give it a try for sure, its one of the musts for horror gamers :)

Thanks a lot, i will surely give it a try. For now i have reached my download limit, by 12 midnight i will download the silent hill 2 game.

I was really shocked with the revelation in the end that James is the one who really killed Mary. That he killed her cos he doesnt want her to suffer from her cancer and that kills his conscience though out the years. James is kinda weird. Until now I am confused wether Maria is just a look a like of mary, a demon or she really is mary. Angela is the weirdest character but it took me long to figure out that her dad abused her.
Silent hill 2 is the scariest of the silent hills, though my fave protagonist of all time is heather cos she is the only one who is not a weirdo. The other silent hill protagonist are weirdos.
Pyramid head is damn scary, when he is rapin those legs, that is the most traumatic Silent Hill 2 moment for me

The most twisted Silent Hill protagonist for me will be Henry from Silent Hill 4 though he is so weirdo, he is not likable at all. James is weirdo but we only found out he is psycho in the end. I think Silent Hill 2,3, 4 have HD remixes in PS3. My least favorite Silent Hill protagonist is Alex, he is a damn soldier, he should be in an action game. Then there is silent hill downpour, Damn aq Prisoner, Prisoners fits more in action games.

I downloaded Silent Hill for my ps2 and I tried playing it because I got into playing horror games after playing Resident Evil. But the thing is silent hill is nothing like resident evil. The atmosphere and gameplay is a freakier than resident evil and it totally gets me off guard. I tried playing silent hill 3 and it was pretty good but it got too freaky for me so I kinda stopped playing. But I do love the puzzles that you have to solve and how the creepy enemies just happen to pop out of no where and take you down. I have never reached a boss before and I never will. 1 person likes this

Yeap I see what you mean. Especially in the start when you are still learning the game it gets really freaky when you walk down the roads and the static sound begins and enemies come closer it kind of freaks you out, but as soon as you learn playing the game (cause the game controls get a little weird sometimes) and you go deep into the game's story it gets less scarier and more enjoying. At least that happened to me. I am RE fan too but I have to say that building up fear that SH tends to create in the first games are better than the "BOO" occasions that happen in RE. Both game series are good gaming memories :)
