Do You Get Upset?

Do you get all upset if you leave home only to realize you forgot your cell phone? This only happened to me once over the years but thought I was going to lose my mind without it. I don't use mine constantly but want to keep it close by just in case there is an emergency.

I wear bluejeans most days so the phone goes in my pocket. It has become a habit. This way I don't leave it at home or in another purse. Thanks for responding.

Mobile phone..ha ha.. Long ago, I was not sure I'd switched of the gas..so just like Kevin's mother in Home Alone, I went on recalling did I or did I not and finally chose to go home and check rather than lose my mind over it..and I was not even 30! So your situation is not as dangerous as mine..

That could be dangerous. Was the gas left on? Thanks for responding.

No..but - a few years earlier ..one of my aunts did leave the stove on and though the house did not get burnt, that incident kind of remained in my mind. So being new to working ..I was always trying to recall whether I did everything right back home. :)

I've forgotten my phone a few times, and it definitely drove me crazy. I kept feeling as if I were missing something. Or I would go to reach for my phone and it wasn't there.

It is so annoying when this happens. I'm not a big phone talker so I don't hang on the phone but want it with me in case of an emergency with our kids. I had a flat tire a couple of times and sure was glad I didn't forget the phone those days. Thanks for responding.

Not so much upset as worried. I went to Vermont for Chemo on Wednesday and I live in NY State. The hospital is 66 miles away and the weather was bad. But I got there and back without incidett. First time on my own with the chemo. But I was fine. One chemo is a lot easier than 4 and they cut down my benedril to something where I take a nap and I'm fine afterward.

It doesn't bother me all that much. I do use my cell phone for work reasons & usually I have it with me. There were times when I forgot to bring it to work & walked away from my desk without it. There were few times when I left it in my car & when I came back, I've missed few calls. But they've always left a voice mail & I could just go on without missing much.

I don't have voice mail on my cell. Just never set it up. I do have caller ID so the phone flashes colors when I miss a call and can check it that way. I have a much older phone since it's not used regularly but do carry it with me everyday. Thanks for responding.

I am actually one of those people that will go back to my house if I realize that I've forgotten my phone. This isn't something that happens to me very often because of the fact that as long as I am wearing pants that don't have pockets, my phone is typically in my pocket unless I am on it. I do use my phone all the time and it is definitely a lifeline to me so I know that I would be lost without it.

I get upset not because of what I forget but that I actually forget things when I try so hard not to.

I will back track to go back home to get my phone. I've had enough drama when my phone wasn't working and I had a sick child and school couldn't get ahold of me but got ahold of hubby at work and he was livid. Ironically I was out trying to get a new charger / buy a new phone at the time I was out and about and missed the phone call. Since my phone is the first they are to call from school, I make sure I have it on me. Though like you I hardly use mine.

And then we mom's feel guilty. I have turned around and came back home to get my cell. We have grown kids but still like the idea they can contact me if there's an emergency. Thanks for responding.

Well I forgot my phone sometimes in the past but I have to say that I didn't get that upset about it. Usually I do my arrangements before I leave home so if I have an appointment or something I already know where to go before I leave home ;)

most of the time i forget important things to bring with me and not just cellphone. so i always get mad for getting forgetfulness and now i make sure before leaving my house to check all my stuff before going out of the door. i experience that i just remember i have no cellphone with me when i am already inside a public transportation and i could not stop it as it would mean a double expense for me.

Hello Carolbee, Well, I haven't faced this situation until now so I don't know if I would get upset on forgetting my cellphone at home or not. It also depends upon situation, like if I am going to my friend's place, it would not bother me, but if I am in market and I need to call at home to find out what else am I supposed to get then surely it would make me go crazy.

If I am traveling out of town I will turn around and get it...if I am just running errands it's not that important most of the time but today I forgot it and it was driving me nuts as I went this morning with my son to pick out a brand spanking new car for his wife....and I was waiting to hear if she liked it or not! LOL

I feel much better being out alone, mainly at night, if I have my phone with me. I will come home and get it even if I'm just a few blocks from home. Did she like the new car? Thanks for responding.

I really just use my mobile in case of an emergency since I have two kids at home, so , sometimes I go out somewhere near but , I always like to take my mobil with me , so , my son can communicate with me. I am not a mobile person , I dont have internet connected to it ,so, is not my favorite toy.

I understand about a cell not being a favorite toy. My service is basic. I can relate to having kids at home also. Thanks for responding.

I left my cell phone at home a couple times, and yes, it was very annoying. Especially when I was waiting for an important call, but even without that it's bad to know that in case of emergency I'm not available or can't call anyone. I wonder how we solved problems before the cell phones, lol

No kidding. We just hoped the car didn't have any issues and there weren't any emergencies. Although when I was younger, before kids, I didn't worry if my car fell apart or not. Interesting how we change with age. Thanks for responding.
