Do you take long times to prepare for an exam? Because i do , i mean the first day of the semester i compile or create various reviewers and from time to time read them so that i can have a grasp of past discussions in class, I do that because i think it is much better than to cram, sometimes when you cram you kinda miss out some details and that is bad because come exam day you might miss the most important part that you should have known in the first place and i don't want to be remorseful for not preparing if i had the time.

I don't study very early like whenever I have exams, I don't study 2 weeks before or even a week before because I tend to easily forget everything I studied so that would be just a waste so I just start to study two days before my exam. Then I just review the day before.

You are right. Like they say, different strokes for different folks. Whichever works for us, as long as it's effective for us, it's good. And you get high grades for it. I get high grades too even if I don't study for long periods of time, because that's what works for me.

hi david, i prepare ahead of time and like you i make my own reviewers too. i can never study using my classmates notes. so i always made sure that i didn't miss anything in class though sometimes i would miss some too because we can never tell what's going to happen. oh i hate cramming. whenever there were exams the next day, i wouldn't go to sleep until i finished everything then i would just make up for my sleep when the day is over. heheh you know how it is studying nursing subjects

Hi there Cherish, Well I do know how nursing subjects are studied and yeah it is awful to cram and not have your own reviewers that would really suck, anyway kudos to us nurses for finishing our degree and studying hard all the time, hehe i just picked up my own bench.

I think it's best to start studying for the exam in time. I don't believe that one day is enough to prepare for an exam, sometimes I had to do hat because I had no time while working, but when I passed those exams it was just because of my luck. My subjects were the kind that I had to memorize. I know when I started preparing for an exam during the semester, writing notes, it was easier and I remembered everything better, but my short term memory is not so good.

Hi there almond, We are alike in this way i too have poor short term memory but i familiarize the lessons early on so that i do remember them and when exam day comes we are ready for the big tests.

It'd highly dependent on the subject for me. Subjects that I'm better at, like history and such, I would always have no problem with since the topics tended to stick with me a lot easier. When it came to things like math and chemistry, well, I had to study a ton to get the information to sink in since those were my weak areas. Since I got into college I've fallen into a pattern of condensing notes until I have the vital information squeezed into a notecard, and by that point whatever I need to know has been memorized.

i agree like anything else in life you have to stay on top of anything including classes if you wait until last minute it get to be that you have to much to do and now cant get it done and miss out on goood things n life time is all about management of it. use time well in all things needed to be done.

Yeah laken that is right, i mean start early if you've got nothing better to do study on so that come exam day your brain is stuffed and relaxed that is how i roll because really it is better that way for me. Thanks for that.

Back in the day, when I was at school, I didn't really take all that much time to prepare for exams. Of course, that was just because the way that I learned. I found that I would take notes and rather just listen to the teacher, then only I would rather take the minimal amount of studying, to just rather brush up on the exams, when I could. Of course, everyone studies at different ways. And I will say that it is likely a bad idea to study right up to the wire. Because your mind needs to be kind of relaxed when you go right in for the exam. If the mind is not rather completely relaxed, then you will rather fall right on your face. Just do a little bit at a time, perhaps as the class goes, and you may be more prepared than most.

Keep up the good work. You have a good study habit. When I was a student, I cram most of the time. And believe it or not I excelled. Cramming worked for me because it was at that point when pressure would motivate my brain to absorb better than preparing a long time for the exam. I'm not encouraging anybody though because what worked for me might not work for them.

Hi toni, Yeah we all do study different unlike for me my brain really needs to really dig in to those books make small reviewers to stimulate it and really eat all of that knowledge, i love reading.

Usually I don't have enough time for my exam. The time is very limited. For my +2 public exam I had got only ten days as study leave. I has almost 16 chapters in each of the subjects. There is 6 subjects for me and it is very difficult to cover such long chapters within ten days. No one can complete it but still I spent most of the time and I was able to cover most of the chapters by leaving the unimportant matters.

Hi there the wonderboy, Well people really do have different scenarios and i think that in your case you just had to really cram and get to learning the more important stuff well for me i just try my best because i cant really memorize quickly so i learn long periods so that i get to really take in the subjects.

I had my board exam last November. And usually in board exams the preparation time is very long. For my board exam, it's six months preparation. So I started my review May of last year. Licensure Board Exams usually have a lot of time for preparation because it's not an ordinary exam. It's an exam composed of all the lessons in college. Can you imagine that? It's very hard to pass a board exam. You have to start studying early so that you wont be catching up at the end. Cramming is not effective because the knowledge may not be absorbed in the brain once you force it.

Hey t here vincent, Well people absorb things way differently i mean some can really digest a lot of info by just reading it once unlike me familiarity is key for me and that everything that i do is just awesome for me so yeah lets study at our own comfort.

Personally, not. When i am reviewing for long examinations, i am reviewing my lessons the night before the exam and 1 to 2 hours before the exam. By this method i can easily remember things. However, if i am in the mood and inspired, especially math subjects, i am trying to solve problems every weekend when i do not fully understand my lessons. Self study in some ways. :)

for me, it depends on the difficulty of the subject. I am an accounting student so most of the time, during exam week, i spend most of my study time to concentrate on subjects which require problem solving and calculation, while those subjects which somehow require memorization or those that are all about theories, i study it usually 2 days before the exam day,.not too long. hehe God bless!

Hello, dear friend. I have not prepared a very long time for an exam besides college entrance exam. I don't like exams.

The problem with exams that take a long time before being done is that one develops the habit of postponing study time. I take exams that take a long time to sit for and during this long preparation time a lot can happen. One keeps postponing until when the time to do the exams the period to prepare was short.
